Guardiola really is a complete knob. Shows how bang average he is as a manager needing to buy the best players available instead of making them himself. Has to be the most overrated coach in world football, maybe second to Moaninho
It's going to be even more enjoyable if they don't win the league this year. Imagine spunking the money they have and not winning it, hilarious.

Pep should only take the jobs at non-league clubs, with no money and players in the shape of that 'sideline-pie-eating' goalkeeper if he really wants to prove his quality. This makes sense doesn't it? Because Fergie didn't have the luxury of financial advantage, cannibalizing smaller clubs, 70K stadium when that revenue actually meant something vs TV money, etc etc etc. Pep is a fraud don't you see?
The point is there are probably 25 managers in the world who could have won the same trophies managing Barcelona and Bayern when he did. They didn't win because of him.

I have more respect for the likes of Wenger, Klopp and Simone who competed and won titles against the money clubs in their respected leagues. I'm not convinced Pep or Jose would've been as successful managing Arsenal in the 90's, Dortmund or Atletico recently. And I sure hell wouldn't swap Poch for Pep or Jose despite their 'trophy' list.

Not sure about Wenger in that list, Arsenal were one of the money clubs, since Chelsea, City and United went financially stratospheric they haven't had a sniff.

Frank Rijkaard didn't hence Pep got the job. I don't class Jose in Pep's league. Just coaching players to run through walls and negate what the other team does is not impressive to me and Big Sam and Pulis agree.

But Pep developed a style of play that dominated Euro and World football. And he instilled it into Bayern while incorporating specifically German qualities and soon will with City while incorporating particularly English qualities. I think that type of syncretism is amazing and it shows an advanced mind at work. His teams develop a style of play that is distinctive and shows that coaching is going on. Like Poch, our style of play is distinctive and shows he has spent the time drilling the players. Pep is a very good coach regardless of his good personnel fortune. Poch is as well and at this point in time I would not trade.

The thing is though, Ferguson would take a poor team and improve them. He'd play to their strenght and adapt.
While everything point to Guardiola being totally lost if he doesn't have the absolute superior players.

Good.

To be honest, I highly doubted that we'd sell both our full backs in one window, and both to the same club.

Their fullbacks cost more than the whole team of some of their opponents. Want to see them fail even more now, if that's possible.

Is it right they have spent more on fullbacks this summer than our squad cost to assemble in total ?

Not even close. We paid £30m for Sissoko alone. Add in £25m for Lamela, £22m for Son & £17m for Janssen & you're already nudging £100m. Add in the significant fees we paid for Ericksen, Vertonghen, Davies, Lloris, Alderweireld, Dembele, Wanyama.etc and we've spent not a pennt less than £150m on the squad.

Ok, but you could make the point that their full backs cost more than our starting 11 that started against them in the FA Cup semi, no?

I'm not denying that they're a moneybags, corrupt, shit stain on competitive football. So, don't get me wrong. I have no love for what they're doing. As for the overall value of our cup semi first 11 I don't know. I don't even remember who played to be quite honest.

Both The Times and the Mirror running the same story about United and Inter Milan preparing bids for Rose. I haven't seen it but I'm told The Times story quotes a potential bid of around £50m.

I suspect the journos are being briefed by Rose's camp. Certain we'll reject any offers but not as certain he won't try and force as move.

Quick Daniel, put a wig on Sissoko and see if they'll believe he's youth team star Danny Rose-Peters!
