Based on his interview i think he'll stay this year but actually, for a footballer, it was quite a clever interview and did contain a bit of warning/shot across the barrels to Poch/Levy i.e. match the players ambitions or they're off.

You do realise that neither Levy or Pochettino are idiots. They will do what they can within the financial limitations they have to work under. Expecting Spurs to match Man City, Man U or Chelsea for wages is plain silly.

I am a long time lurker on this forum and would never claim to be "ITK" but today I've spoken to a mate of mine that knows Danny Rose's dad, and says he's definitely leaving and it will be to Manchester. The only thing not decided will be which club. Passed on in good faith. And from a personal point of view I'll be gutted if he goes, same with Kyle, but if being at the club right now in the position that we're in isn't enough then it's all about the money. In which case, see ya later boys.

Really wish ppl didn't neg rate stuff like this just cause they don't like what's being said or don't believe it. I love the random ITK like this that pop up even though it's not from a verified ITK and neg rating it will only stop ppl from sharing news they receive in good faith. It's what make the transfer section exciting!

I wasn't talking about wages to be honest, more matching the players ambitions and delivering trophies i.e. he said something along the lines of 'players will decide they don't want to nearly challenge for the title or nearly get to a cup final'

Thinking we can match the oil clubs for wages is bonkers.

Shame if true. We didn't do too badly without him last season so I'm not bedwetting. I hope it means Toby will be offered whatever it takes to stay.

Our wing backs are absolutely fundamental to the way we play, giving us width and pushing the opponents back. I find it almost inconceivable that we would sell both Walker and Rose this summer.

We've finished 2nd and 3rd in the last two seasons how is that not matching played ambitions? If these players want to win trophies that need to be scoring against shit like Sunderland and wet spam away not to mention Bournemouth!

Can you seriously see us selling the two best full backs in the prem?

If we sell Walker, ok, he is replaceable and not definitively first choice.

If we sell Rose is send a very negative message to the rest of the squad. The chairman will know that.

This is all complete nonsense.

Of course some hacks would twist Rose's interview, but I was listening to it and he genuinely said nothing to worry me at all. Quite the opposite, in fact.

It's a non-story imo.

It's comments like this that really leave me bemused by elements of our support. He IS our best RB/RWB, he's England's first choice & without question 1 of the best in this league in his position. He has something our team severely lacks as does KT...... PACE!
Just because he was being rotated with KT from March onwards doesn't make him a expendable player. When they are both at it KW is easily the better player of the 2 and don't let these City rumours cloud your judgement. Put it this way City/MUFC/CFC all have £ to burn so surely they'd go for KT if he was the better of the 2 don't you think. The fact they're going for Walker speaks volumes.

I've said this on numerous threads but I'll say it again. Selling KW to City or any other direct rival, regardless of the fee, sends out completely the wrong message to our squad and other clubs. It will once again prove the media narrative of us being a selling club. If he goes don't start all moaning how the media has it in for us when they start linking all our best players to other clubs. At some point we have to say NO ffs.....

Ok so we don't sell him even if Poch has oked the deal, Poch continues not to play him and we go into another Modric, Berby even dare I say it Bale scenario, how does that benefit the club? Personally I back the club over a player.

Secondly I've been a Walker fan over the years, defending him even when he brain farts... let's no pretend he doesn't because he does. It's only really this past season (moved to WB) that he has been truly a step above. So IMO my opinion isn't clouded, less than 6 months ago he signed a contract and stated on PM "Spurs for life". Club before player, if he feels he wants to move what really can we do?

At the end of the day we don't know if its squad rotation, money or personal life that has kicked this all off. What I do know is that Poch and Levy have transformed us, and I put my faith in them.

Many scoffed at West Brom and their board for there handling of Berahino, let's not become a club like that. In my honest opinion IF Walker leaves I don't think his transition to a "bigger" club may be as dreamy as he expects, with a £40-50M price tag defensive farts will come at a very high cost. Zabeletta's (spelling) will be pretty big shoes to fill if we're going on an all round game.

You said "everyone crys" [sic], as if posters are dropping to their knees and crying their eyes out, emulating the scenes in North Korea after Kim Jong-Un died.

Neither of the posts you quoted look to me like they were made with teary eyes.

I don't want to sell Walker or Rose and I don't believe for one moment that we are selling Danny Rose but the idea that no player will ever leave isn't credible even at a top club.
We are not talking about our main playmaker or striker in a team of otherwise average players against our will as used to be the case, we just have to be more grown up about it and realise that we are a big draw for players now with the ability to replace players that do leave.
It's also why it is important to bring in players before other players go or decline, Ryan Sessignon for example, it's all about managing your changes a good example of that is Sir Alex Ferguson and a not so good one is Arsene Wenger, I know which one I think Poch resembles.

100% agree with this and would add that at some point we need to bump up the wages of players who have taken us to the next level. We can't pay Man City wages but we should not be paying some of these players as if they were at mid table clubs. They have earned the club millions more than projected in over the last two seasons. If we continue to progress we will continue to earn more in commercial's and full capacity stadiums in the future. We are at a crossroad now is not the time to be messing about with the squad. I say keep everyone you possibly can but release the dead wood. Then a few clever addition's job done. No Levy time Aug 31st nonsense get our business done early please!
