Maybe it's a good time to sell Rose anyway. Discontent, injury prone player who's not contributing to the squad morale. 70M and Mourinho may have a seat at Levy's table?
And then after the summer, Levy can throw £130m of that cool £140m he made into the repaying stadium loans so we "dont do a leeds or liverpool" since thats apprently what we'll do if we spend it. Then put the other £10m directly in his pocket.

Everyone saying poch wont stand for it and rose will be gone.based on our business over the last 12 months i would be shocked if poch wasnt having the same thoughts as rose.we have been dreadful in the transfer window.dont buy any of this bollocks of waiting for other clubs, decisions.no other club has failed to bring in at least a couple of players even if they havent got everything they still want.

Poch is still 35/1 to be next manager to leave, I can see that price disappearing in the next few days...

Unfortunately it's now the beginning of the end for Rose. Poch has already been seen to be ruthless with anyone not commited to the cause.

I'd have no problem with him saying these things privately as there's some elements of what he said you can't argue with. It's choosing to take it public at risk of unsettling such a great squad that upsets people.

Such a shame as he could have been so fondly remembered here for the rest of his life had he chosen to leave like Walker did without kicking up a fuss in public.

Good time? What a few days before the season starts and no apparent replacement, I don't see it.
Dunno mate. With the cash flow from such a deal ... Who could be a replacement? And as much as I've criticised Davies, he did really grow into a highly decent player during the spring.

I suspect the only person happy about this is Ben Davies. He's just cemented his position as first choice left back by doing absolutely nothing before a ball has been kicked this season.

Sort of half defending Rose, he's saying what we've all been saying for weeks (not in a national frigging newspaper though), how many players come out in public with this sort of stuff?

Then I read this...he's either incredibly stupid with bad advisors or both, most likely both. Let's not forget he shares the same agent as Walker, and that agent is Rose's actual Uncle.

Down to money, pure and simple. Cheers Danny, it was good while it lasted...about 4 months last season (y)

Agree with you on the risk, apart from the fact that Levy doesn't actually take money out of the club apart from salary, which he really has deserved no matter what you think of him.

Of course, and so it should. But the point is currently we don't have the revenue so he's asking us to bump his wages up out of thin air, based on his misguided perception that we are one of the big boys because we have had good league finishes over the past couple of seasons. It's just selfish and totally stupid, if i'm honest.
I understand that but it is natural to look around at comparable clubs, when we were challenging with Southampton, and Everton a player would look at them for comparison and only wistfully look up at the top of the league clubs but now we look at them as a direct comparison because we are as good as them.
I am not saying we should throw silly money around, I just think we are being hit with a dose of realism here, play with ambition pay with ambition, it's the way of the world.

Even if some of this stuff has been twisted or taken out of context, it's hard to believe it all has. I wonder what Poch is thinking as well. I was under the impression that he had to sanction any media interviews. So either Danny's gone seriously off script, or worse, he's making these noises with MoPo's full knowledge. I really fear that we are maybe one more sale - whether Rose or someone else from the first 11 - from watching the whole pack of cards collapse. And if Poch goes, we can kiss goodbye to any hope of challenging for trophies or anything other than vying for the Europa League at best for the forseeable future.

Both Rose and Walker's best attributes are their pace and ability to run all day, although the latter was as a result of Poch demanding his players have extremely high fitness levels and working their asses off all game.

Neither player is particularly good going forward and as we've seen both of them have a Billy Big Bollocks stinking attitude.

With the attacking prowess that we possess, replacing both of them with hardworking and relatively quick full backs shouldn't detriment our play, especially after our run of excellent results from having to play both Davies and Trippier. The only issue and a major one at that is our complete inability to sign anyone. This is where we need to go grow a pair and pay the asking price for the calibre of player that we desire... we need to be ruthless in the transfer market and we have the funds to do it. Fannying about gets us nowhere.

I agree. Although returning to my previous point he only needs to wait one season and he will get big payrise, i'm sure of it.

He's given himself raises every year. He's paying himself more than chairmen of other top 6 clubs do. This ontop of being minority shareholder through a trust. Make no mistake, he's pocketing money in different ways from the club.

For the record I don't buy all this 'missing the north' stuff either. It takes two hours to get from London to Leeds, it's hardly a transatlantic trip for crying out loud.

Just came to see there has been a 60 page meltdown here. Not sure if anyone has suggested this, but since Rose is "Poch's son", is there any chance he did this with Poch's blessing to put pressure on Levy?
