40m for David Brooks? His contract situation obviously gives Bournemouth all of the leverage but thats crazy money, dont you think? Is 40m the new 20m?

Unfortunately that's what it might take. Now this lad is 21, has scored goals in the EPL, has sweet left foot and under Poch he'd do even better imo. From what I've seen he is athletic get around the pitch easy, very cultured on the ball and has has great technique how me missed him in the first place begs the question.

I don't see it as a gamble tbh he will only get better playing with better players (no disrespect to B'mouth), I see similarly traits to Dele Alli and both in the team would be a nightmare for many others.

Just my humble opinion (we're gonna have to spend x money sooner or later and its best to spend it on clear potential )

hes a good player - its an obvious fit and Poch would do well with a player like Brooks as he matures and develops more but 40m is a tough one to swallow unless thats just the going rate for young, promising British players. We bought Dele 3 years ago for 5m!

40mil for Brooks is a bit rich even for a English player in his 1st EPL season

Brooks and Wilson for 40 mil would be more reasonable ...would be money well spent immediately cover us for 2 of our most lacking positions

Agree. If Eriksen goes, we need to secure a quality midfielder but we’ll probably have to change our style of play to accommodate his loss.

PS- I thought he was immense in that deep lying role in the second half against Utd
I'v said many a time, but if/when we lose him we should be all over Aouar like a rash. I would put in a deal now for the summer as even if Eriksen stays he would be a huge asset for the future.

Eriksen has offered us plenty over the years, especially under Poch, we've seen him grow as a footballer. You could replace him if we were not Tottenham, but we are, so a like for like is out.

His second half performance was better (like most) yesterday but his last two games in particular he hasn't really played up to the standard we have all come to expect. Brooks would offer more in the mould of Dele, but across that final third. £40 mill is alot (if that is indeed the figure) but all I hear is Poch is never backed (think someone made this point but more succinctly elsewhere today) and then player X is too much etc etc .... Sometimes you're damned if you do and damned if you don't.

Should have bought him this time last year when we were linked. Could of got him for £10 million, now we’d probably have to pay three times as much. Poor from us.

quite a few players like this throughout the last 3/4 years..we used to clinch deals like that but to be fair, they are becoming more and more difficult

I believe they are becoming more difficult as we are becoming better (as well promoting our own development players) , said potential player may not see a path way to the first team. Many of us sigh when Chelsea Barcelona etc bought young potential just to see them go to waste...B'mouth seem to be were Tottenham were when Levy first came.

Doubt he'll be going anywhere after only just signing for them.

I'm sure we're still keen but this is just bullshit made up by the press.

This is one of those players that when we were linked to him at Sheffield Utd fans were crying "lack of ambition".

Now someone took the chance on him and he's doing well, we were wrong for not signing him from Sheffield Utd.

Unfortunately prices are just stupid nowadays, there isn’t a whole lot of transfers we could make where the fee wouldn’t look high. It’s what has been caused by the City’s, Chelsea’s, Uniteds and Liverpool’s throwing huge money at players just to try and round out their squads.

Think Wilson is Chelsea bound, they'll pay whatever is asked. Had a serious knee injury a year or so ago didn't he. Can't see Levy sanctioning 70mill+ for him.

I like the look of Brooks, he's got that sort of care free attitude around the pitch, the same as Dele, but without the streak of devilment.

Both knees. First one went, he managed to make a comeback, and then the other.
