David Button has joined League One side Leyton Orient on loan until January.

The young goalkeeper impressed on a season-long loan at Plymouth Argyle last season in League One.

David has made 73 Football League appearances in total having also enjoyed previous loans at Shrewsbury Town, Bournemouth, Crewe Alexandra and Dagenham & Redbridge.

Should go in as number one, he is superior to Orient's keepers

Disgree. Jamie Jones is a very good goalkeeper for them and initially I was surprised Orient had gone for Button.

So I had a quick look at Orient's website and found that Jones has been laid off with a shoulder injury for potentially 6 months leaving them with only their back-up keep, Lee Butcher (one of our old youngsters).

So this makes sense now and I suspect Button will get a good opportunity to compete for game time until Jones comes back and is fully recuperated.

My mistake, I hadn't seen Jones was injured, just that he wasnt in goal so assumed he had moved on. Orient have had a poor start and Button is superior to Butcher whose been in goal, and letting in goals, this season
