You cant really blame levy for not wanting to invest half a billion in that shit hole.

Ok the closest I've lived to the ground is Edmonton, I now live in Hertfordshire. That "shit hole" (as you put it) is and has always been a community and we may well have many members on SC that still live there, so I think it's a bit of a dangerous statement to make m8. There are many people I would imagine both fans of the club and just residents that looked forward to the development of the area and I always thought Spurs were a "peoples club" but I feel money is taking over here now.

Are THFC really one of the biggest employers in the area? At most they probably only employ around 200 people or so and out of them how many would be local people? Surely none of the high paying jobs from players, to coaches, to medical, to boardroom have nothing to do with the area.

You are only looking at the club itself, i expect there are surrounding businesses that benefit from the club being in the area.

Exactly, they are a 110m a year business. The Tesco at seven sisters probably does similar money.

I'm sure Tesco can at least claim they employ local people most of whom are probably close to minimum wage material...

Also consider the distance from N17 to E15 is minimal would the locals employed by THFC to make the tea etc lose their jobs or simply travel a little further to their employers new head office?

I do see that point but is it THFC responsibility to drive traffic to local stores? What do THFC get back from that? Couldn't the club help drive traffic to local stores in E15 and get the same big fat nothing back?

Good point. I travel 30 miles a day to work. N17 to E15 is hardly far.

Lammy is really not helping his cause by appearing so desperate.

I understand where he's coming from. He needs Spurs in the area and he will look to do whatever he can to effect that.

But his argument seems to be that we owe the area. We don't owe the area. We are a football club and we need to do what is best for the club. I think Lammy would be better served trying to convince the club that staying in Tottenham is the best thing for the club rather than mouthing off about Levy's conspiracy theories and threatening a pointless, time wasting and doomed to fail legal challenge against our use of the Tottenham name.

In my job I do a lot of work with Manchester United - not so much playing staff and directors/medical team, but the ordinary workers from the local community who are employed in some capacity by the club.

If United's standards are anything to go by, the number is far higher than 200. Higher than 2000, easily.

Foolish high pitched idiot. I want to stay at whl but not because of the many flawed arguments and spin regarding the relationship between harringay and spurs. They have the power to keep us if they pull thier weight in the regeneration of services. Islington practically sucked the scums cocks as they laid bricks and painted that uber eyesore on the side of the death star. Misguided spurs fans signing the petition are giving harringay what they want without them having to do the right thing and invest.

Oh, according to our OS:

approximately 220 full time employees and 600 part time employees

Far less than United then, but still a fair amount of jobs.

It is not Haringey Council's, or David Lammy's fault that Levy so obviously prefers Stratford.

It is PROFIT.

Seeing as people seem to be struggling with that still.

I beg to differ, the blame lies at their door. They've been dragging their heels over the NPD for so long that it got ridiculous.
Harringey want us to pay to upgrade the entire area it seems and think they have us over a barrel, they clearly underestimated Levy.
I'm very anti Stratford and will not renew my ST if we move there but I don't blame Levy.

I heard his so-called passionate plea and the man is a bloody idiot!

People need to wake up and smell the coffee, we need a new stadium, the whl redevelopment will cost 450 million, it is a global recession. If Levy wasn't trying to get us the best deal he could he shouldn't be in the job.

In the end, if we get the os, we will be better for it.

I would rather stay at whl, but not if it means bankrupting the club!

They certainly didn't do themselves any favours. Lammy sounds like a very worried man indeed.
