Can somebody actually suggest how David Lammy should have acted instead of calling him the spawn of the devil? There is immense spin on this from both sides. He is acting in the interests of the local community. It is not his job to facilitate Spurs making a fortune.
I also can't believe there are people in message boards debating the name "London Hotspur" as viable??!!
Whatever anybody says "Tottenham" Hotspur was in the main born in Tottenham and for decades I suspect the majority of supporters attending games came from local people. In a poor, deprived borough how many locals can now actually afford a season ticket?
Lammy should have tried to find funding or concessions for the club, if he thought he didn't want to lose one of his biggest businesses in the area. I can remember back before this there was talk of Spurs moving because of the viability of developing the ground and the restrictions imposed on them.
They couldn't care less about the area. BJ was born with silver spoons stuck up his arse as well as rammed down his throat.
Quite possibly, but I have to say that when I lived In Edmonton, and Freezy Water in '97 and was travelling 4 hours a day to work in Surrey, I didn't appreciate the transport links, even more so on match days. For them to remain so woefully inadequate means that someone, somewhere isn't doing their job, and Lammy, who might not have been around then but is now should've been highlighting this as a serious issue. It is a proven fact that better transport links to an area boosts the revenue of the area, in some cases workers get more opportunities to find better paying work. Think of all the areas that recieved high speed links to London, and those opened up to CW by the DLR
