Sign him up as a player and a coach. He can teach our youth squad a few tricks like he did last time and he can also teach Zokora how to be a decent defensive midfielder, or better yet take his place as the defensive midfielder.

Davids is the only midfielder we've had in recent times that hasn't let Fabregas rip us apart.

I read it in the metro. It didn't say "i want to coach at spurs" more along the lines of "i want to coach one day, maybe in England, and i wouldn't rule out tottenham"

Davids told Setanta: "Anything is possible and if an opportunity turned up and it was under the right circumstances I would love to come back to England in a coaching capacity. I don’t see why that should not be at Spurs as well. I would love to come back to the club. It is a big club, everyone knows that."

If he and the squad members that he fell out with can put that behind them, and he could get the respect of the likes of Keano, bring him in as 'how to be a hard bastard' coach

Definately, lennon has seemed to lose his techniual ability. Bring back davids so he can tell the speedy little basterd where to pass the effing ball!

I am going to try some pure speculation but I think the young players in Spurs immensely respected Davids.

Davids does have a "holy shit that is Edgar Davids" effect wherever he goes. I know I felt it when I watched his first game (a friendly at WHL). I was in my seat thinking "holy crap! Thats Edgar Davids!".

Now we do have some tearaways at Spurs. Boatang, Hud, Lennon and even Defoe is a bit of a wide boy. The players hardly go out of their way to impress the previous coaches (even Berbs seemed uninterested at times)

I think Davids would be great to be at Spurs to get his badges and to cut his teeth training say the youth teams. Because just having him around would be IMO a benefit to the team as a pat on the back from Davids after say Lennon had a good game would do wonders for morale.
But as for training the first team. Nope, he needs to earn that from proven results.

I am skeptical about Poyet but will hold judgment until the end of the season.
