Also gives us a backup for Dier at RCB (Poch doesn't seem to think CCV is ready quite yet and Wimmer plays LCB plus apparently wants to leave). This in turn makes it easier for Poch to use Dier as cover for Wanyama.

CCV is not ready yet, I like Wimmer, I really thought he would be a player that would have been at the club long term but he's 24 now, and Sanchez is looking better than him at 21. And with Verts over 30 now we Sanchez will probably be seeing plenty of game time.

I would say RW is a position we are weak in and if Rose goes LW also.

We have Son + Lamella for RAM (we don't play with wingers), but will probably start the majority of games without either on the pitch...just Eriksen & Alli behind Kane.

The injury to Lamela for such a long time has hit our squad depth quite hard. He was first team before the injury and only getting better. We lost him and other players improved and replaced him but to have him as a sub and rotation option or to cover injuries might have made quite a difference had he been fit last season, particularly in the European games where he always seemed to play well...

Exactly! This is why I was disputing WexfordTownSpur's assertion that we need to sign a RW.

Oh, well we are supposedly going for Aurier (RWB) and Sessegnon (LWB/LW). Having Rose back from injury will obviously make a big difference too.

I don't actually think the wing-backs were the problem today though. I'd say we outplayed Chelsea and simply weren't clinical enough in the final third...just like in the FA Cup SF.
