Word seems to be that Vertonghen is staying. The big question mark is if Kaboul can regain his fitness and get back to his previous standard.

If he can then we have Vert, Kaboul and Chiriches as our 1st 3 choices. I'd rather see us bring in a younger player who is ready to play like Caulker than keep a 30+ defender.

Dawson will do well at a club like Hull and help them build as a regular Prem club.

Personally I'd rather keep the 30 year old defender with a bit of desire, character and leadership than any of the other three.
Of course Eunice if he can get over his injury problems and his game back on track to pre injury form he is a pretty strong character, Verts is undoubtedly a very good player when he can be arsed, sadly last season he rarely appeared to be arsed and Chiriches still looks quite a way from adjusting to the PL so needs a lot more perseverance

I think injury issues, playing a high line and lack of continuity combined with full backs that don't know how to defend was our biggest problem at CB last year

Clearly there are question marks over all, will we play a defensive high line and if so never mind just Daws, but can any play the high line well? can Eunice recover his form? can Verts be arsed? can Chiriches ever really adjust to the PL, but for me if we get two full backs who can actually defend, drop the high line and try and maintain continuity at CB where possible we would be far stronger at CB regardless of changes

I don't like this. We probably want Daws to go, but I'm quit sure he wanna stay.

When a good player wanna leave, we get all angry at them. They're all about money, they have no loyalty etc. But when a guy like Daws is about to leave, we're like "yeess, finally!". Isn't that a bit hipocrit, I'm sure Daws wanna stay and fight. Haven't he deserved the right to do so? He has given his heart to this club for nine years. Never complained, always done his best. Almost always a smile on his face, even when taking a ball in the gut. If we're gonna complain about Bale, for example, leaving us. We need to appreciate what players like Daws and Azza has done for us, and give something back. If they have stood by the club, and the fans for ten years. Shouldn't we stand by them, for me they've deserved the right to play out their contracts with us and fight for their place if that's what they wanna do.

No we don't need to give them something back. Lennon and Dawson gave us several decent seasons but the club has moved on and they're no longer good enough.

Lennon creates very little and contributes 1 goal a season if we're lucky. We need goals from our front 3, and Lennon isn't going to deliver.

Dawson is good against teams who lump the ball up but is way too slow and poor against anyone with a yard of pace, which is the majority of the Premiership opposition.

They both had poor seasons and it's time to ship them out whilst we can still get some reasonable money for them.

Absolute rubbish,

where is the identity?

People can't simply come in and have passion for a club, its something that evolves.

If they are willing to stay and fight for a place whats the problem?

This is just a case of flog em while they still have some value decision.

I worry we really will have no experienced leaders in our team.

I know Hugo, Vlad etc. are captains of their national teams but I don't think they have the same passion/love for the club that Dawson has.

I don't think there's anything wrong with selling him, but I think as fans we should be a little more respectful to a guy who has been nothing but a model professional throughout his career.

There's nothing wrong with hoping to seek better players than what we currently offer, and I am completely on board with looking at an upgrade at the CB position at the expense of a sale of Dawson. But, I still love Daws and how he has represented our club over the years.

I think it'll be pretty easy to get maybe 4m for Dawson. Proven leader and clubs that are either cellar dwellers or new to the PL will likely be looking for a player like him to lead their club to a hopeful stay in the PL.

Yes they are.

What kind of club do you want?

I never supported Spurs because we won everything.

I would like a club that competes well, entertaining with skill, passion and flair

treat people well with respect and honour on and off the pitch players staff and supporters.

Not a franchise, turning over entities with little or nothing in common with the club.

What will be left for me to connect to?

Where will my Hoddles, Perrymans etc come from?

We might as well of moved to Stratford if its going in this direction

As someone earlier stated, loyalty goes both ways.

What kind of club do you want?

One with reliable, consistent players who are still at the top of their game.

Lennon offered nothing last season going forward, hence him being referred to as a defensive winger. As a team we struggled to score goals and we need 10-15 each from the left and right sided forwards, in addition to our lone striker scoring 15-20. Other than Ade and Eriksen, no one else really contributed.

Dawson USED to be a very good defender and his partnership with King was one of the best in the league. However, he's been steadily declining and last season he really struggled. The high line was a disaster for Dawson ... due to being too slow, diving into tackles etc etc etc

And no, I wasn't impressed with Vertonghen. Our centre backs need an overhaul, with 2 in 2 out.

Having an Englishman as a back up is a good move in my opinion. Need to keep an eye on how many home grown players we have.

Daws wont be sold.

Poch will try and sell him until hes had a few weeks training with him, then like every other manager, they will keep Daws and make him captain for another season.
