Good luck Daws, great servant of the club and graceful for you to move on this summer without a big fuss.

Always the guy we saw pictured in the charity events, welcoming new players, signing autographs, etc.

He's a lot more than just someone who took a paycheck from the club for a few years longer than others.

Anyone who disagrees with Dawson being a loyal servant to the club, and someone who loved THFC is an idiot. Legend.

Best move for all 3 parties, but sad to see him go. Best of luck, and hopefully we give him a massive round of applause when he returns to the Lane.

All the best to him, was certainly a loyal servant.

Christ I remember the day he arrived with Andy Reid tagging along for fun!

Manchester City striker Carlos Tevez rates Michael Dawson the best English defender he has faced.

Tevez admits the Spurs man gave him little chance earlier this season.

Speaking about the Tottenham Hotspur defender the Manchester City star told the Daily Mail: “We lost 3-0 and he didn’t let me into the game.

“I know he doesn’t play for England, but he is the best English defender I have played against.

“Very strong”

Will never forget those quotes! King, Woodgate, Daws. 3 class CBs to have had at the club.

Love Daws and his contribution to the club but it was absolutely the right time for him to move. Hope he does really well there.

He also wished us to move forward. Good man and hope you get a few more England caps to close out your career.

It's the right move for all parties, but that doesn't take away from him being a great pro and a great guy.

Goodbye Daws.

Can a player still have a testimonial?

If a chairman grants one after 10 years

In Jan it would be 10 years, given he has played with his heart on his sleeve in every game and been club captain I hope Levy wont be petty, deserves a testimonial
