We should not let him go until the replacement is done and dusted. We can't be left short at the back

Don't think the current management team is this reckless. Dawson's leaving could only mean one of two things: either a new signing is imminent or he is not going to feature no matter what.

I don't think it has ever been a management decision at our club, we've been left short a number of times by different managers, doubt they were all that clueless.

GL to Dawson, served us well and with loyalty.

Good club for him to finish his days at as a) his brother used to play there b) he's a northerner and c) his mates Livermore and Huddlestone are both there.

Remember when we signed him almost as an afterthought with Andy Reid. Unlucky to have played in Ledley's shadow, but was a dependable and stalwart defender. This is a good move for him. Poignant though as it feels like a break with a bit of history.
