Playing right now vs Real Salt Lake on NBC Sports for those in America. Just started watching. Seattle is down 2-0, no fault of Yedlin's though(watched the goals on live extra to see if he was at fault). Just laid in another good cross. On target, but Dempsey was in the wrong position.

Now 2-1

Unfortunately Seattle almost always collapse in the last part of the season, so I wouldn't expect that many good results for them.

If anyone is interested, Yedlin is starting tonight with silverwear on the line(US Open Cup final vs Philadelphia Union). Being broadcasted on some beyond obscure channel(golTV). So stream it is.

Hasnt been a good game for Yedlin by any means. Andrew Wenger has been giving him a heap of trouble(although I think he was just subbed off). Anyway, Yedlin miskicked a ball giving it back to the Union on a 1 on 1 breakaway....until Yedlin turned on the jets.

Decent write up on how he's doing.

I'm not saying he'll come in and immediately displace Walker, Walker is only three years older after all and already very experienced, very accomplished and will potentially become even better under the stewardship of Pochettino. That said, Walker will have to be superb to hold this guy off as I think he's a real star. The first time I saw him was when he appeared at the World Cup and based on that alone, long before we were even linked, I said that we should sign this guy as he would provide superb competition for Walker and maybe even become good enough to displace him. When we eventually signed him, and at such a low cost, I was absolutely delighted. The guy has pace, skill, strength and works his arse off. There will be a few parts of his game to improve on, but that's part and parcel of signing a player this young. I can't wait for him to arrive.

All of that said, we might be best waiting until the end of the season as Naughton is having a good season and Walker is nearing fitness too, so unless Pochettino thinks that Yedlin will offer an improvement on them both immediately it might be best to wait until the summer when he'll have a further six months football under his belt and we'll be in a good position to evaluate which of Walker or Naughton we're best served moving on (overloading at right backs is not something I want to see again).

I don't follow any MLS, I'm literally basing my entire opinion of him on his performances in the World Cup (loved Yedlin v Vertonghen in the knock out phase), so can anybody who follows MLS a little more closely offer a more informed assessment on what we're getting here?

Yedlin starting at RM in a 4-4-2 for the USMNT tonight against Ecuador. I think he could do a job for us in a similar, more attacking role, so it'll be fun to see how he fares tonight.

Yep. Very interesting to see him play as a RM- that's where I want to see him play as his pace will be devastating. I doubt he will be good enough defensively to play as a RB in the PL but he could do one hell of a job further up the pitch.

Yedlin can be an impact sub in the PL right now - so much pace, and seems to have a good football mind.

Even though he's not technically ours yet and therefore not on loan.
Except he is as Seattle wont be getting any more $$ fromus when he comes in January. He is ours. On loan at Seattle. He has confirmed as such. Just because the club has a PR team that is beyond useless doesnt mean he is not a Tottenham Hotspur player.

Well not that it matters if he's ours or not, but a section of the Wikipedia editorial community, which includes me, have determined that with the evidence we have, he is not a Tottenham player yet and is not on loan and so you will see his Wikipedia article does not reflect that he is. This is because no statement mentions it, just that a agreement has been reached. Here is Seattles statement: http://www.soundersfc.com/post/2014/08/13/sounders-fc-agrees-transfer-yedlin-tottenham-hotspur
Also, he is not listed on our website in the team profiles page, under "on loan". Now, given the usually poor management of our website, I would have suggested that it's just not been updated, but the day after Yedlin was agreed, he made an appearance on that page and the fact that he has since be taken away is pretty telling.

As an editor, don't quit your day job.

From the OS:
"DeAndre has signed a four-year contract and will remain with Sounders before joining us ahead of the 2015/16 season."

When he signed the contract he became a Spurs player, even if he has not yet started.
