The problem is, whilst we know that players surround the ref and tell him to fuck off it's not always easy to pick up on camera. Whereas Alli was seen giving the ref the finger in full view in close up for about 10 seconds.

It might not be fair to single Alli out, but it just shows what a stupid thing it was to do.

Don't get me wrong, it was definitely a stupid thing to do.

It was a stupid thing to do, and FIFA (and the FA etc) love making an example of shit like this. He really needs to cut this stuff out.

Fifa will just say that you can't make that sort of gesture on the football pitch no matter who it is aimed at, even if it was friendly 'banter' and give him a ban.
he should know better, he is meant to be a professional.

What a load of bollocks, yes it was a bit daft but this is over sanitising the game to ridiculous levels. Why aren't the dozens of deliberate kicks which could have injure him not getting attention from FIFA? What about the multiple times when players hound the ref, verbally abuse the ref?

It was silly but if he gets a ban for this it'll be a disgrace. Fifa have their priorities all over the shop. If it wasn't a high profile young England star with big things predicted of his career this would not be an issue.

Everything is over sanitised these days, you can thank political correctness and over sensitive cultural changes for that, everyone is a victim now in some way or another, nobody has a spine for things now, taking offense at everything, just see the sort of shit BBC is pumping out now and you will know what I am talking about.

It's no different in football, sure it was a stupid thing to do, especially when kids could be watching on TV and footballers are seen as role models these days (for what reason I am not sure, but they are) but the reality is, it's a middle finger, it's not a fucking hate crime, he flipped someone off because he thought it was funny, childish? Yes, bannable offense? Ridiculous imo, I don't want to sound like an old man shouting at the clouds here but people really are cowards these days.

How long a ban/fine did bendtner get for wearing the wrong pants? He'll probably get lumped in the ridiculous barrel with that in terms of punishment.

It was a silly thing to do though. I'm not condoning it.

Totally agree, but it's the way things are. You know it, I know it, but Dele still not worked it out.

I seem to be in the minority that saw the incident that Walker played a high through ball which Dele didn't chase or move for.

After that you see Dele sticking finger up in Walker's direction.
The two are mates and yes you can assume that Walker goaded Deli for not chasing the pass.

I really don't believe for a second that it was aimed at the ref.
I don't think anyone would do that?
Also what would be Deli's reasoning for swearing at ref after an incident that didn't involve a foul?

Sorry, but imo, Dele would without hesitation. He's incredibly impetuous, but that's a trait that Pochettino values in him as I suppose it manifests itself in "fire" on the pitch at times.

i agree that he is that,
but i dont believe he would swear at a referee in that particular situaton , he was smiling whilst doing it.
There was no incident to be agitated by the ref

He wasn't smiling at all in any footage I've seen, he had a look of anger on his face if anything

He's had that look on his face the last few times he's been subbed, too. I wouldn't read too much into it.

I'm not reading into it, I just don't know where people have got that he was smiling from. Maybe he was but I certainly didn't see that.

That's exactly how I saw it at the time.

F'ing PC and all that.
I won't be able to fart in public soon. I'll get done for "noxious gas release in public space" or something equally insane. (for a fart I mean not toxins before people get offended by that too.

Dele should read all the comments on the various articles about this and we'll never have to worry about him leaving lol. Almost universal hate for him from all directions
