Dele Alli has been in excellent form recently and his attitude straight after the loss to Man Utd in the SF perfectly encapsulated everything a Spurs fan would've wanted to hear from a player; he was hurting the same way that we were. People forget how young he actually is but he came across incredibly mature in that interview.

Yes, he does tricks sometimes; sometimes they come off and look great, other times they don't and he looks stupid. You're quick to forget that it was one of his "party tricks" that kept the ball in play to set up Kane for that iconic goal against Arsenal a few years ago.

I would describe that as honest endeavour. His party tricks are his brain dead inappropriate actions, when the situation requires him to play simply and keep the ball moving. It is good to see a change in his attitude from earlier in the season.

Does anyone else still think that his best position for us would be back in the midfield two, alongside one of Dembele, Dier and Wanyama? Probably just me.

I think he gets closed down a bit too quickly for his liking at AM or on the wings and CM allows him to turn and drive from deep with less pressure. He could still make those runs into the box, but we'd be able to play Son, Eriksen and Lucas together behind Kane and make the pitch less narrow.

I think that is where he will play next season.

I think he should play there but I wouldn't want him to be tried there before next season. He's in form at the moment and making things happen further up the pitch.

Liverpool at home was one of his best performances of the season and he played a little deeper that day.

Dele can be an absolute world beater if he gets his head together regularly. Hopefully that will come with experience.

I've been a harsh critic of him last season and the season before that to an extent but this season I think he's done really well since October ish. He's really started to take better care of the ball and his ability to see and execute passes has improved.

I think he'd do better as an 8 in a 4-3-3 but he's a good number 10 now. Previously I thought he was too enigmatic to play there.

To be fair Dele has been the absolute bollox since he has joined us, a slump in form for a small period is expected at his age or any age but the sky is the limit for him.

There will be some fans who slate him now who will be the same fans moaning that we sell our best players when he goes. I for one hope he stays for a long, long time.

He protects the ball so much better at the moment. Nowhere near as many runs down blind alleys and failed nutmeg attempts. I've been really impressed with his all round play.

Just seen a nice interview of Dele by Steven Gerrard on BT Sport. Dele really comes across as a well spoken, intelligent and confident young man.

A somewhat figure of fun at Spurs
due to his off-field activities
but his part in the securing of Dele
even if he exaggerates it a bit
outweighs any negatives.
In fact I think he has been
a positive force at Spurs in his various guises.

He doesn’t exaggerate his role in getting Dele one bit.

Absolutely crucial in it

And others!!!!
Off course but from the side of Dele and Mk (I was a Mk academy scout at the time) pleat was pushing early for him.

Can think of half a dozen times sitting next to him and talking to him about dele.

All in all it will go down as one of the best deals we’ve ever done.

Seems like the media has been briefed he is next in line for a new contract and announcement. Both Dan KP and Ally Gold have come out with articles this morning saying as much.

Yeah he's very good. Pleat has done far more for this club than many will ever know.
