It's Kilpatrick so I believe most everything he's reporting.

"Spurs want Alli to similarly commit his future to the club and also aim to secure the futures of Christian Eriksen, Jan Vertonghen, Eric Dier, Son Heung-Min and Kieran Trippier before next season."

Dele, Eriksen, Vertongen, Sonny, Dier? Fantastic! I'm completely behind that. Trippier though? That's a big mistake. One of our biggest problems last year was going from attacking, athletic fullbacks in Walker & Rose, to fullbacks who didn't have the athleticism to bomb forward. It was a big problem, especially against elite opponents. Trippier isn't good enough, never will be and isn't what is required for us to take the next step foreward and actually start winning things. He should be sold and replaced by KWP who is much better suited to our style of play.

I understand why you see things this way but he will only be one of our RBs. The other should be KWP.
So we will have differing types of FB for different opposition.

I understand what your saying. In practice that would work. Trippier plays against Wolves on the weekend and then Aurier/KWP plays against Barcelona in a midweek CL match.

But in actuality? You know Poch will put Trippier out there against Barca. Against City. He's a hard worker who gives everything for the team. I admire and respect that. So does Poch obviously. But that doesn't change the fact that he's not talented enough to do what we've been asking him to do.

Everyone being bumped up for the new wage structure.

Sanchez just signed last summer, and already got a new deal.

That's because he was on comparatively 'low' wages when he signed (believed to be around £40k a week) he's now earning £70k

Trippier signed last season which puts him in the same bracket as Sanchez, if he signs again he'll be our highest earning defender which wouldn't make any sense, can't see it personally.

Wasn't trippiers new deal for £55k a week? I could see him getting another bump.

Quick google says £65k but I'm extremely wary of wage reports on private player contracts. There's a lot of guesses and clickbait about.

Yep. Leave it to the club if they decide he deserves another payrise so soon go for it.

Is that how Pleat pronounced 'Erik Edman'? :).

However, Pleat is a legend and is really clued up. So much respect for the man.

Yes. Much maligned but no doubting his dedication to the job of looking after us in one capacity or another.

Interesting to hear he’s ‘only’ on 100k a week. Leaves room for another significant boost in a year or two’s time when the vultures start circling. Love Levy’s constant rewards/ improvements policy when it comes to contracts.

I'd bet, if he plays and wins 2 games a week, 1 in CL, his weekly will be nearer £200k with basic bonuses...

Dele looks good in his Pepsi commercial. I wonder if he got to meet Messi, maybe talk him into coming to London...
