Sanchez scored an own goal. So no success at all. Should have stuck with Caulker.

Spurs signings over the last two seasons: (143 million!)

Moussa SissokoNewcastle£30,000,00031 Aug, 2016
Total: £58,000,000

Now let's make a list of how many of those are first team: Sanchez and Aurier. Now let's make a list of those who have impressed: Sanchez. So 143 million spent and 1 player has impressed, and let's face it he has been a bit wobbly in the rain in the last couple of games.

Apart from the obvious conclusion that we should sack our scouts, the next problem is that the majority of those signings have blocked a pathway for some of our youngsters..... Now I know they are all still young and have a chance of getting through, but from what I have seen...

Aurier blocks KWP
Sissoko blocked Onomah
Foyth blocks CCV
N'Koudou blocked Edwards

Have we really improved our squad? and if the Spurs academy lads had played the same amount of games as those above, would it have been such a bad thing? Let's say one out of those four (a fair guess, given the potential) had succeeded with their chance. We would be better off than we are now.

Can we accept 1 good transfer in 2 years? Can we accept our promising academy lads not getting the chances? Now Foyth and N'Koudou fit in to our transfer policy, young potential with a future ahead of them. What are we doing adding players like Llorente, Aurier and Sissoko to our team?

We are in the unique position of having a very strong team that has been improved by a superb manager, we have to stop. Malcom - yes, Maddison - yes, Sessegnon - yes. Lucas Moura - NO.

I suggest a new simple scouting procedure - if the player has not shone for their club (Aurier, Sissoko) don't sign, if the talent is not abundantly clear don't sign, if the player is over 30 (Llorente) don't sign. If the player has only one good season under his belt (Janssen) don't sign.

Is it that hard, and is it really so bad to blood a few youngsters instead of rushing out to sign whatever we can find? We are in the postiion now where players (young players) look at us as the perfect club to continue their development, a bit like Dortmund have been doing for years. We should be looking to exploit this and maybe spending a little bit more on 1 or 2 than buying 4 or 5 bargain basement signings.

We are in an utlra competitive league and the way we have managed to compete is developing youngsters here, Vertonghen, Eriksen, Kane, Dele, Dembele, Son, Davies, Rose, Trippier etc.... they have all improved their game at spurs and we have created a base to develop footballers.

Now I think Poch is great, but if he has been responsible for these signings then this is worrying and may explain why he persists with some of these lads over our youngsters.
Aurier was regarded as the best RB in Europe at one point during his time at PSG. FFS.

Dare I say it...

Malcom doesn’t look overly amazing from his YouTube clips and is coming from a weak league, after a good 12 months or so ( sound familiar? )
Maddison & Sessegnon are kids who haven’t done it above championship level. For the dough being mooted for all 3, which is something approaching £110m, you could possibly have another 3 names to add your list of poor value buys if we did land all 3.

Don't worry, there's a petty reasonable chance we won't get at least two of them.

That was Sissokos fault according to some genius in the match thread.
That Bertrand is allowed to overlap with such ease? Completely. If you can’t see that, watch it again. And again. And again, until you can. Get a fucking clue, dude. Who else is meant to be tracking that run that directly leads to the goal?
