Wenger has said that Arsenal are still hamstrung paying off the stadium. Doesn't seem they got the best financing deal if they are doing that. Thankfully ours should be paid off in 5 years or less.

Wenger is full of shit as usual. For years they have had hundreds of millions sitting in their bank account. At one point more cash reserves than all the other premier league clubs put together. He chose not to spend it.

Kroenke wouldn't let him spend it.

Those capital reserves and income streams at Arsenal allow him to draw down finance in the States for his other sports clubs. Without Arsenal and their resources, those wouldn't be available

Still his spending has little to do with paying for the stadium. Yes they are still paying for the stadium but the payments are a lot less than the increased matchday revenue.

They are paying for 'a' new stadium. The new stadium of the LA Rams. Looks well swish too, long may the leaching continue.

I'm sure the arsenal fans are relieved that that was what wenger was talking about. Lol.

The new stadium will mean a lot more for us than just an increase in match day revenues. For any potential sponsor, a stadium that will have 60,000 potential customers in there offers more return than one that only has 36,000 - that goes for stadium sponsorship, shirt sponsorship, advertising boards, betting partners, beer sponsors, you name it. More value = higher price points for all our commercial deals. I'm sure the club shops are all going to be open during the NFL games too, which in themselves will bring us plenty of extra revenue, and that's just the events we know about already - Stamford Bridge and the Emirates are both used regularly as conference venues and the Emirates has even hosted Coldplay and Bruce Springstein concerts, we will own a venue that can do things like that and I'm sure Levy and his team will be all over that.

It's unlikely we'll be getting near Man Utd any time soon, we'd need to have a decade of dominating the Premier League like they did to boost our brand profile to do that. But without doubt we are going to see a major boost in revenues soon. The only question is whether we will start using that extra cash to pay bigger transfer fees and wages, or whether Levy and ENIC will do a Kroenke/Arsenal and just start hoarding cash.

It would be interesting to see what this place would be like if we had an owner essentially milking the club for the benefit of a overseas business interest/sports team.

Meltdown wouldn't be the word. It almost almost, makes you feel sorry for that lot. But not really...

We’re the 6th biggest club in England, getting 6th dibs on the best English talent. We’ve won the league twice, ever, and the last time was in black and white. We’ve won the cup 8 times but the last time was nearly 30 years ago. We’ve never won the European Cup and consider just qualifying a huge success. Our capacity till recently was 36k and had been for best part of 25 years, Tourists buy Utd shirts as mementos of going to England, and Arsenal/Chelsea shirts of going to London.
Pretty depressing when you put it like that but absolutely bang on the money.
And a salutary reminder for the impatient among us just how much has been achieved in the last few years.

Considering we're looking at £60 million+ extra with the new stadium, £15 million extra for the shirts (assuming our current deal is around £10 million), £20 million+ for naming rights, £20 million for American football, concerts, conferences etc then we will be very close to Arsenal next season, never mind Juventus.
That would be one hell of an achievement.

Not sure those figures are correct but we'll see. Hope they are.

This is actually not too far from the truth. Big Stan is rumoured to be using his Arsenal stake as collateral for the funding of the Rams stadium. Basically he is saying I own a majority stake in a sports organisation with over £300m cash reserves and will sell my stake and repay you for the Rams stadium if anything goes wrong. Hence the conditions put upon him are such that the higher Arsenals cash reserves and profits the less restrictive his Rams loan covenants are. He has every reason to stock pile cash at Arsenal. So whilst Arsenal are not paying for the Rams stadium they are restricted by it.

Completely believe you. Just laughing that wenger is blaming the stadium, just the wrong one. Arsenal fans must be so pleased.

Am I wrong in thinking Social Media Footprint drives up commercial value because it indicates fanbase size?

:( I was totally shocked how low we are compare to our rivals..

Now it sorta makes sense how our kit deal is half as much as Chelsea`s

Not sure why you'd be shocked. Our fan base is dwarfed by the others in the top 6.

I knew we were behind but didn't realise the size of the gap...

I guess success would help close the gap but I think it shows you need to keep and obtain the best players and also the value of certain players with a huge personal following to club finances for more that what they do on the pitch.

Not everyone that follows are fans of the club. Do you really think leicester has almost as many fans as us? Or possibly that year they won the league so people checked out who they were?

We are off the big 5 though.

I am just saying it matters when you go to a corporation and ask for money so they can be associated with your club.

I highly doubt 10 years ago city would have been above us it goes to show how being successful brings in more interest and support base, but it also shows how consistent we are as a club 6th spot does seem to be our default setting which is not bad and a good base to work from.
