Spurs, meanwhile, are continuing to monitor Birmingham’s highly-rated winger Demarai Gray, who is available for a fee of around £3.75 million in January.

Paul Mitchell, the club’s head of recruitment, made a personal check on Gray in Birmingham’s 2-0 defeat to Huddersfield earlier this month.

Gray, 19, has a clause in his contract which ensures his transfer value diminishes in each transfer window but Spurs are unlikely to step up their interest until the summer, preferring to focus on signing a new striker.

We've been linked with this kid for some time now. Problem is, I can only imagine we'd be genuinely interested at this point if we've deemed Oduwa unlikely to make the cut, or plan on cutting a senior player such as Chadli.

Can see why he'd go there. Competing with Albrighton (who's been excellent for them) and Mahrez (likely gone in the summer) - he'll go straight ahead of their reserve wingers Schlupp and Dyer - will see plenty of minutes this season for a team joint top of the league and likely starter next season with the chance of European football. If there is a reversion to the mean and Leicester move down the table over the next 18 months to two years he can use them as a stepping stone to a bigger club. Shame as he is excellent but, despite our excellent policy on playing youth, he's got to get through an Argentinian, Belgian, Korean and Danish international (with an average age of only a couple years older than him) to start in one of the wide positions for us. I'd probably choose Leicester as well.

I reckon the next club to sign him will have to pay 5-10 times what Leicester do now

Reading the article, says he's not signed yet, and there's no quotes from anyone to suggest a deal is in place. Not sure how reliable the Mirror are, or if Darren Lewis is ITK.

Good move by him - you'd think the superpowers of European football will woo Mahrez in the summer so he'll have a pathway into the team.
