Dorian Dervite faces a lengthy spell on the sidelines following the knee injury he sustained in the Reserve Team friendly at Norwich City on Monday.

The French Under-19 international - signed from Lille during the summer - was stretchered off after a challenge in the 19th minute and a scan has determined that the central defender has suffered a tear to his anterior cruciate ligament.

"Dorian gave a very good account of himself against Port Vale in the Carling Cup and I felt he was almost there in terms of making the breakthrough," said Martin Jol. We hope he makes a speedy return and I'm sure he will come back stronger."
