"On the Serie A front, Genoa have been in touch with Tottenham to discuss a potential transfer of Giovanni Simeone (striker) and Diego Laxalt (attacking winger).

Laxalt had previously been linked with a move to Chelsea whilst Simeone is one of the most promising strikers in Italy at the moment.

The 22-year-old is the son of Atletico Madrid coach Diego and scored 12 goals in his first 35 Serie A games last season.

According to Genoa-based paper Il Secolo XIX, Spurs have asked information about both players who could leave the Marassi for a combined € 35/40 million fee."

As per @daryl hannah's post in the Giovanni Simeone thread.

Played as a left wing back, was pretty good last season and is part of the Uruguayan national team

LB / LWB is surely not a position where we need to be spending c£10-15 million of our limited transfer budget.

Maybe, but we do need wing backs with pace in 3 CB formation. Rose injured, davies and trippier not so fast. This guy Laxalt is really fast.

Is he fast? Because my biggest fear this season is when Rose is injured our wing backs are very slow. This will be further exposed at Wembley.
Maybe we'll sell Wimmer use Davies as LCB cover and this guy as back up to Rose.

I think it is, if we want to play 3 at the back Rose is injured. Only leaves Davies, who can't play wing back. Sure Rose and new RB will be first choice leaving FB cover as Dier/Davies in a back 4 or Trippier/Laxit? in a back 5. Maybe an idea?

I mean, Davies did play in a back 3 for us, and we won nearly every game when he did.

What games was that? I can remember Poch sticking Wanyama in but not Davies?

Give this thread a couple more hours and this guy will be the player we've been missing and why the f hasn/'t levy signed him yet.!

I assume @THFCSPURS19 means when he was used as a LWB in that formation, Davies has hardly ever been used as a CB for us.

I don't care anymore I just want a signing. My patience with, "the you'll be happy when he signs, " top secret target is razor thin. Please sign someone this week. I just want to dream.
