We need to win the F.A Cup.

Not because I particularly have any affiliation with it, it's fallen behind in recent years but because there is going to be no hiding from the merciless criticism we'll get if we don't win it.

If we win we'll always be tarred with "They should have won it, seeing as they're at home" but I can live with that.
I can't live with losing to 1 of the most successful teams, regardless of current politics, and being called legends.

Bottling games is losing to inferior shite like Portsmouth in a semi. Or losing to a gobshite West ham and drawing against a gobshite West Brom when in a title race

Losing to either United or Chelsea is just something that happens. I don't give a shit if we're above Chelsea or if we recently easily beat United, both of them are more than capable of beating us and it won't be because we bottled it this time.

I beg to differ. We can lose to inferior teams if they are up for the cup fight and we believe we are superior and we are not mentally prepared as I believe happened with Wigan/Man Citeh , calling Wigan and lower clubs 'shite' is disrespectful to me. I dont necessarily think its bottleing. Loosing to bigger clubs happen too and we cant wont win every game. It has happened when we were not mature on the pitch from winning positions, when we have made mistakes and also when we have been tactically naive or the manager has failed to react to something you would expect him to (Juventus fresh in my memory). Its not necessarily bottleing ("bottle it", meaning to back out, give up) though that word is used widely used out of frustration by fans and it is also used in the media as we more than anyone else seem to lose those big games. I'm not really upset as some are about the expression as I believe some fans are expressing the same frustration as I have.
