This guy might not look it, but he's 22! He's still learning his trade and although played a load of senior games in Holland, he still (in football terms) very young.

Bale was just finding his feet at 22! All these questions marks over his ability to play in England are ridiculous and will serve the guy no good. Media have a serious issue over here and print crap just to sell.

On a separate note, I think Dier needs to take a step back from talking to the media. Every week he's saying something different, whether it be winning a game, challenging for the league/cup. I wish for one season we would just learn to keep quiet and do the talking on the pitch. Our performances of late have been average so just keep quiet and knuckle down. Let's see where the season ends up and then we can talk.

I don't think there are question marks over his ability, or at least their shouldn't be

He's clearly very good at what he does

His lack of natural pace is a concern but if he can learn to develop that Sheringham style first yard is in your head he will be fine

The concern for me is more to do with whether or not what he does and what he's good at suits our style and whether our style suits him

I think if his team mates and he can adapt their respective games to be more compatible it can work but if this fails to happen (a real concern considering once Kane is back he will not be number 1 and therefore the team is not likely to tailor it's play to suit his style) then he could end up being a very square peg trying to force his way in to a small round hole

he wasn't really the type of striker that would be a natural fit for us and our needs in terms of covering Kane like for like or offering something extra but he is a very good striker in my opinion and he does have a skill set that can benefit us if he and his team mates are coached to get on the same wavelength and produce the goods

There is an issue of balance in our squad still I fear and he only adds to the issue rather than solving it

agree on Janssen
disagree on Dier - players are asked questions and often made available by the club for media duty - nothing he says is out of line and often very positive about the fans, club, players etc.
