Eric Dier has undergone surgery to remove his appendix.

It is expected he will return to training with the squad in January.

Our midfielders are all dropping like flies, it’s going to be a tough few weeks,
Get well soon Eric

Interesting that it was done on the NHS. I wonder whether it was was in the same hospital that the players visited children for Christmas.

Hope for a quick recovery. Looks like Skipp and possibly Foyth will need to step up. No problem with either of them getting some game time. We've certainly had a bad run in DM though.

Maybe Poch should take a leaf from ossies book of formations and play 5 up front and 5 at the back; we won’t need cms then!

Serendipitously @thinktank could get his wish of seeing Foyth in the DM spot if any more injuries occur...

Don't tell anyone, but I think Thinktank is onto something.

I certainly wouldn't discount it being a success. Putting Foyth there wouldn't be much more of a risk of skipp being there, although I haven't seen yesterday's match. Our man thinky does have good ideas however how maverick. I do like maverick though... To dare is to do an all that.

@Frozen_Waffles what was the reason for the spam? The players attended The North Middlesex Hospital, which is probably the closest big hospital to the Spurs training ground.

A funny story... When I was 5 i decided to jump off a slide head first onto the concrete rather than slide down it. I know, due consideration, and the thought process arriving at the conclusion that was the best way to proceed is something to be admired. Anyway with my head split open, and blood pouring out we jumped on a bus to the north middlesex, naturally it was full of spurs fans either before/after a game. They were all really nice blokes (everyone looked like a nice bloke at that age), and helped out with the mopping up. Anyway i got a large number of stitches, and became a lifelong spurs fan. I ended up with some spurs memorabilia from then.
Marvellous hospital the north middlesex. Yeah not really relevant , i just felt it worth saying.

All emergency surgery is done under the NHS even if you have private health cover. But don't worry, i'm sure he's recovering in a suitably comfortable Nuffield clinic.

I'm not worried; I think the NHS is better than the private institutions, especially if you're seriously ill.

My eldest daughter was born there in 1976.

It's funny that it's the appendix, because I was reading a book about the gut and it was described as an organ that no one thought had a use until recently. It's actually very important. It's a metaphor for Dier.
