If Campbell does turn out to be good, United can get him next season anyway.

In my eyes, giving them our best player and borrowing one of their youth players, is a depressing situation.

I fucking hate Berbatov.

30.75m quid + a decent loan striker?! Fraizer Campbell doesnt look too bad if its who Im thinking it is...played last game for ushited? I think Levy & co have bled this transfer dry. £30.75m lol.
Granted we're possibly in a situation of only having 2 strikers in Europe but didnt we have a bit of a problem last season of having too many strikers in just 4 and having no consistancy when they were rotated? By the way, does anyone actually know the system Gus and Juande are looking to play and whether it'll be effective?
We've got 4 months til January. 1/3 of a year. Its a fair amount of time to see what our current squad can achieve. Stop being negative and get behind the team for once, half of the posters here sound like Gooners!
We've just made another £20m on a player who didnt want to play for us any longer. Man Utd could have stood firm, waited another season and got him alot cheaper. They needed a striker, Berba wanted to go, they (both Utd and Berba) pretty much forced our hand with the transfer but weve managed to pick pocket Utd of a bucket load of cash in the process. Great bit of business imho.We could have done a hell of a lot worse!

money doesnt get you goals! and so far we have spent minus our war chest this year and levy was haggling a few million over arshavin, disgrace!!!!

they get a world class player, we get to give a hot prospect some experience for a season then have to give him back if he's good, if hes shit then i guess we can keep him....im so glad levy screwed over fergie and got the best possible deal in terms of the FOOTBALL club.....ohh wait he didnt!

I'm depressed, as part of the deal we were also told to drop our complaint to the league yet hang on what was Berbie doing having a medical a t a club who didn't have our permission to speak to him. I know many will say som, etimes you have to put your principles to one side but I'd have made sure I completely shafted fergie and not get Berbie go. Instead as people have pointed out we've sold one of ther best strikers in the world for reasonable money, got noone to replace him directly as Pav was for Keane and give free premiership experience to one of their youth players who I'm told is potentially very good so unless Levy has agreed that if he';s good enough we can sign him permie for a fixed price then once again the club has screwed this up. I don't believe Pav and Bent are good enough for the Prem as a pairing (not like the fear keane and berbie used to spread) and Bent alone in the UEFA means we've missed that boat too....scary thing is by february there'll be the big 5 and we'll be fighting for 6th! Man City are going to spend big, bigger than Chelskia so the market will be stupid as Roman will fight the arabs, jsut wish it wasn't whilst being owners of football clubs.

What a waste of seven hours watching ssn last night turned out to be.

May as well have spent the night on Hampstead Heath with my pants down by my ankles waiting to be bum raped, as that's currently what I feel Levy has done to the club I love by not getting in an absolutely top drawer proven striker as a replacement.

At least if I had have done that I would not have to see my perpetrators smiling face every two weeks sitting fifty yards from me and I wouldn't have given him £750 for the privilidge.

I appreciate the team has been strengthened in other areas, but to paraphrase Levy at the end of the 2006/07 season he said judge me on the players that leave the club. You got top dollar for them, it may not have been what you wanted to do, but we did sell Keane and we did sell Berbatov, so it's not been your finest hour.

Give it a couple of years, he'll either be anonymously assimilated into the squad at United or he'll excel and then sulk his way into a move to Real, AC or Barca - that's his attitude for you and the Man U fans can be as loved up as they like, a samalar-hound doesn't change it's deer-face.

He was a great player for us but the way he has acted over this transfer is devasting. I was gutted when I heard he wanted to play for them. Now he's gone I don't wish him all the best at United, I hope the prick flops, and flops real hard. Even though we got £30.75m for Berba I feel we have been raped by United. I began to hate United last season but now hate them even more especially Sir Alex who IMO was a major influence on the way Berba reacted. I'd now rather Chelsea or even Arsenal win the title.

I may miss the player
I won't miss the man
I will definitely miss the likelihood of ever seeing BG_Spur on these pages ever again

Anyone seen Petyr today?

Why don't people seem to understand we can't just "go out and buy a world class replacement"... buying football players isn't like buying cars!

We can either try and negociate players who want to come to us into our price range by playing hardball, and accept that sometimes it might not come off (i.e. Arshavin), or we can splash the cash in a Leeds-eqse manner, get players who are only coming for a big pay day, under preform, have no sell on value, and our ticketting costs go thru the roof, and we end up in the financial shite.

As much as it can be faustrating, our club is run in a sustainable manner... I'd much rather this, and occasionally missing out on players, than doing a Leeds...
