I am sad to say it, but it is actually true. Jol is bad tactically, and his tactical errors has cost us a lot of points this season. And it is not only about the tactics, but also the composure of the team, and the defenseve thinking strategy by Jol.

Today it started already before the game - you could feel a bad feeling when you saw the line up. Jol tried to do a great move by playing Bent/Keane upfront, and left Berbs on the bench - Defoe was not even on the bench.

Today our defence was really poor, and the same happens all the time. The opponent is scoring against us near the end. What is the reason for that...? It is simple to see - The defenceve thinking strategy of Jol is destroying the team, and we concede late goals all the time.

The second error tactically was when Bale got injured. Why did he use Tainio instead of Lennon? Reason - He is thinking about protecting a result rather than attacking and playing offensive football.

Second substitution: Newcastle scored their second, and Jol subs Malbranque, and in comes Berbatov. Again tactically bad. Why does he take off Malbranque, and not Tainio at this stage? Again: He has that defensive thinking strategy of playing 3 central midfielders with Keane behind Berbs and Bent. In some matches it could have been a clever choice, but not at that stage of the game, and based on how the game picture was.

3rd tactical error: Tottenham come back with 2-1 just before Berbs come on. Newcastle go 3-1 up, and a few minutes later, Lennon gets his chance. This time, Bent goes off. Again that defensive thought. Why take off Bent at this stage? We have conceded 3 goals with a four man defence, and we have 15 min to go plus added time. Why couldn't he take off Lee (Who had a quite bad match today), and play with 3 at the back the last minutes? We need to score, and take risks, because thinking defensive like this makes goals for our opponents, and we see it in every game!!!! At this stage, when we are 3-1 down - Not even then, he wants to try to go forward.

Jol is a top man, as a person and with the players/media, but his strategy and tactical ability is really bad, and that is probably why we have to let him go soon. He is making it difficult for himself, and it is so sad that he don't see it. As a manager, you should see the problem here, but he doesn't. That is why I doubt Jol now, and maybe we have to replace him, because the same errors continue in every game we play........

SK your thread is in the Martin Jol black hole where I think you said all the same stuff so I'll close this one and let people discuss it in there.
