My father's family came to England in the early 30's coming originally from Lithuania avoiding the pogroms and passing through Germany.
This was clearly not a good move so they wisely kept going arriving in the Brick Lane area.
My grandfather had a handbag stall down 'The Lane' but I lost contact with the family as my father ironically was killed at El Alamein by the Germans he had carefully avoided ten years before.
None of them ever attended a football match in their lives and the remnants moved to America in the late 40's where they are probably all millionaires but I haven't been able to track them down as they keep changing their names.
