Had a great game tonight I thought. Slotting into the central position after Toby went off, I must admit I was a little concerned. Dier compensated very well for the loss of Toby, and was one of his best recent games for us. That talk that Poch gave him about being the best he can be was up to him seemed to echo a lot tonight in his performance and play. Dier doesn't need to move, I feel he can achieve what he wants here.

He was immense tonight. Really. A classy footballer and a titan in the tackle. Can't remember him putting a foot wrong.

Op looking a tad silly again. If you can’t see what dier brings on and off the pitch you need to pack it in.

Great performance tonight. Was a rock at the back along with Verts and Sanchez. Hope Toby is back soon as without Victor we don't have a DM. Great knowing Dier will step into Toby's shoes though.

He was immense last night, I do understand why he has his critics though. Sometimes it’s hard to see what he does for the team. You need to really watch what he does in a game to get him. He’s not a “Match of the Day” player.

Basically he epitomises the team work ethic.

I’m still not sure in myself whether he’s better at the back or in midfield though. But after tonight I’m edging closer to the Poch camp of him being a centre back.

I know people won't like the idea of losing Toby, but a back line of Dier, Sanchez, and Verts is still very strong. Eric's position is at CB.

Yeah, fantastic last night and at Old Trafford. Think this season in general he's been very good and back to how he was initially with us. Also agree that he is a winner too, there was a moment yesterday towards the end of the match where I think Winks had a shit clearance that was central and strait to a Madrid player and once the danger went Dier looked to scold him or maybe just the team in general for it but you need that attitude also, as well as a more supportive attitude.

Looks so important to us right now.

I agree and seemingly so does Poch, I read somewhere that he told Dier that CB is his best position and he could become best in league and world at CB but Dier wants to play CDM so he can play more for england, then United promised him to start in CDM and his head got turned. Seems to be all good now.

Behind Kane, i would imagine that he's the next most important player fin Poch's eyes. Versatile, composed and strong.. a great asset to have.
