As it says in the title, do we needa new number 1 or do we actually need a top notch gk coach? Robbos shot stopping abilities are superb. Long rangers....not so great, maybe a top coach would sort his positioning. Corners, Free-kicks etc a top coach may explain to him what he SHOULD be doing in any number of events. I like Robbo and think he has gotten a hell of a lot of stick this last footballing year. Probably since the Gary Neville pass back!
Even if we brought in a "top class" keeper he would still need a gk coach.
What do you guys think?

YES.

We don't need a goalkeeping genius to tell Robbo his shortcomings, unfortunately they are pretty obvious. Get a GK coach as well by all means, but Robbo isn't good enough, I'm afraid.

Our most important signing of the close season is a new goal keeper, its much more important than a creative midfield fielder (Modric), left winger or even a placement striker if Berbatov leaves.

Yes most definitely.....and a new GK for the bench also as Cerny will not be staying and Robbo will not be happy not getting 1st team football!

If Robbo can get back to his best then no, we dont.

But id still like someone to challenge him for the no.1 next year

(Thats my opinion)

i agree with this

get a new keeper who will be pushing Robbo for his #1 spot, get in a keeper coach, so we atchaly have someone good to train them, and see if Robbo regains any of his passed form, if he doesnt and not happy at being #2 we sell him in the winter transfer window and get in anotehr keeper to push the new #1 ...well thats how i think things should be done

we need a GK that our defence will have 100% confidence in, I don't think our defenders trust both Robbo and Cerny to come out and clame a ball etc

so yes we do need another GK, keep Robbo though as backup

and on that note, we need a defence that the keepers can trust to defend! no more stupid markings at set play's or players not getting back to defend leaving us exposed!! also the contantly changing the back line doesnt help, so next year we need to stop this so our #1 for next season or else we will be back at square 1

no i dont think so...i think robbo has the ability...but imagine what he could do with a solid defence in front of him...even the best (and im not saying he's the best but we did manage two top 5 finishes with him) get lots of stick for mistakes...i think we need a gk coach and another top class keeper to push robbo...thats what i think should be the priority in my honest opinion...

now...shoot me down...

I like Yid-Ol's idea.

I just hope we don't buy Kameni, who is a bit better than Robbo but equally prone to errors.

I think we should loan Robbo out abroad for a year to recover out of the glare of the English press spotlight. That's win win for us because his value is never going to be lower than it is now. He's got about 8 years left on his 10 year contract or something after all.

Part of an Amelia deal to Liverano would have been good if they weren't being relegated to Serie B.

Good call.
