Do you think Jay Rodriguez will be fit again?

I dont want us to sign either of them. Reasons:

1) Lack imagination on the part of the coach/Levy/Baldini
2) Not obvious what either of them add; not even sure they would get into our starting 11.

I have no idea why we're even interested in Rodriguez. I also don't really understand Schneiderlin unless we're offloading some other players.

Totally agree. I don't see them as upgrades on what we already have.. How many defensive midfielders do we need!!.. We already have Sandro, Bentaleb, Capoue and Paulinho + Holtby, Carroll and Mason in reserve

We're screaming out for a playmaker in mould of Pirlo and Modric, not a midfielder, who until last season no one took the first bit of notice of and again his profile only rose once he made the French world cup squad.

Imagination? That worked so well last season didn't it...We Spursed it up last season because we were too clever for our own good.

You can't judge new signings just by 1 season (with Soldado being the exception due to his age); and signings from old clubs don't always work out either e.g. Fellani.

What we need are upgrades on our current starting 11. Do you think either of these 2 are genuine starters of the Lloris/Eriksen/Ade mould? I don't think so...

This is such a subjective question! You'd expect that the spurs medical team would have extensively reviewed his rehab to see how it is going and the signs are positive for us to make the signing (if it happens).

I've had ACL reconstruction and as someone who relied on pace, it certainly affected my explosiveness off of that leg in a negative way. I still suffer knee swelling and instability but my case is individual to me and I think others and myself have formed opinions based on the results of themselves and other sportsman.

ACL is case by case one - For some its game over, others its not a problem.

For the interested, the new graft is actually stronger than the ligament and physios can do all kinds of work to create stronger muscle stability around the knee to support the repair. Future damage is usually a case of instabilities that were not addressed in rehab OR plain bad luck :-(

If we sign Jay I'd be confident were getting a player who will rediscover his form! I'm more interested in seeing Walcott's recovery and subsequent performances!

My mate tore his bowling and had the op & rehab and eased back into it and in an unfortunate event was slow bowling to his nephew about 2 1/2 yrs after original incident & did it again. End of cricket for him for good.

I feel that some of us are missing the point here. I agree that we have some outstanding talent in our ranks, but none of them have ever played using MP's tactics/philosophy before.

I agree that we could have better players than Jay Ray or Morgan in our squad, but if I was MP I would like to have some players in my squad that are used to playing the MP way. It will make the transition a lot easier, give MP 2 players that he knows that he can rely on and show the other players exactly what is required.

They may prove to be surplus to requirements in 2 seasons time as by then the squad will all by playing the MP way, but they will help carry us through this initial period.

EDIT: Nobody panic, at the time of writing this we have not signed either
