Do you think Jay Rodriguez will be fit again?

Well, I think it's just matter of time for Morgan Schneiderlin and Jay Rodriguez to become tottenham players. Because BBC just said so. I'm sure that they are not like Willian. So yeah, it's just matter of time.

I'd like to say welcome to Morgan. But, in Rodriguez's case there is a lot of doubts... Because of his injury.

Even though Jay Rodriguez scored 15 goals last season at EPL, liagment injury makes a lot of doubts. Plus, he can't play until October.

What do you think guys? Do you think he will get his form again? Or will it be a mistake for spurs to buy him

I hope he can get back to his best because he looked pretty good, nobody could say for sure though. He's not our player yet anyway though so it's not an injury we have to worry about for a change(y)

This is such a subjective question! You'd expect that the spurs medical team would have extensively reviewed his rehab to see how it is going and the signs are positive for us to make the signing (if it happens).

I've had ACL reconstruction and as someone who relied on pace, it certainly affected my explosiveness off of that leg in a negative way. I still suffer knee swelling and instability but my case is individual to me and I think others and myself have formed opinions based on the results of themselves and other sportsman.

ACL is case by case one - For some its game over, others its not a problem.

For the interested, the new graft is actually stronger than the ligament and physios can do all kinds of work to create stronger muscle stability around the knee to support the repair. Future damage is usually a case of instabilities that were not addressed in rehab OR plain bad luck :-(

If we sign Jay I'd be confident were getting a player who will rediscover his form! I'm more interested in seeing Walcott's recovery and subsequent performances!

Well this all escalated quickly in the couple of hours I was out!

Any ITK about to suggest these deals are done or at least close?

Thanks for great comment Sam.

Well I don't know much about medical part so all I can say is Poch was the manager when Jay got injured. I'm guessing he's somehow confidebt about Jay getting his form again. Hope it's not a mistake

Yeah it all happened in a couple of hours. A lot of papers including AP and Goal said we're closing on Jay and Morgan. And after that, BBC said they have already agreed on terms.

I think it's a great new strategy, rather then waiting for our players to get injured during the season we can buy them pre-injured.

Seriously though, I wouldn't buy a player with an existing injury, Id wait until January and see if he has regained full fitness/form before buying him.

This may be a bit controversial but I would prefer someone more technically orientated as opposed to a player with killer instincts and good finishing.I feel we need someone who can unlock a defence rather than someone who uses pace and positioning to take opportunities on goal. Just look at Paulinho for example, he scored a few goals but would you honestly say he played well all season?

I have no doubts that Rodriguez is a good player but just don't think he is what we should be looking at especially on the back of his injury and also teams are more likely to sit in and defend against us which would limit his effectiveness imo.

Yeah I agree. Maybe we should have worked harder to get Griezmann although ATM was too big fur us... Or we could find LF at Germany.

But I think the point of taking risk is because he was proven at EPL. 7 players we bought last season were all from foreign leagues and most of them were failed... So Levy changed strategy to buy domestic players. He got 2 players from Swansea and will get 2 from Soton.

Well it's a good strategy but buying injured one? I'm not sure. All I can do is trust club's decision hope it was worth to risk...

I tried to study Poch's plan these days and I found out a player who can play Jay's role in Soton is very important. And... to find inside forward at spurs who can play left... Chadli? Townsed? I don't think they are really good options.

So I understand Jay Ro type player but... Injured Jay Ro? I'm not sure.

But like you said, I would love to see someine creative. Like Douglas Costa. But I'm wondering if they will buy more wide players.

I wouldn't buy a toaster if it wasn't working properly in the shop, let alone an asset worth millions of pounds.

I can't see Levy sanctioning a move for Rodriguez.

Schneiderlein seems an unnecessary purchase given we already have a handful of limited, hard working, water carriers in the centre.

Given recent reports I can't see us getting much change out of £30m for them both which would be pretty ridiculous.

In the NFL you have guys coming back from ACL injuries in less than 6 months, it's really not a career ending injury anymore. Adrian Peterson had his best season of his career 5 months after tearing his.

Dennis Seidenberg of the NHL's Boston Bruins tore his ACL and was skating again after just 4 months.

I have no doubt that Rodriguez will get back to previous form.

Neither player particularly excites and as a club we have far more pressing needs IMO but if it makes poch happy injury or not I'm for it. :)

thing i like most about this potential deal is that the Chairman seems to be buying the players that the coach knows and wants which didnt seem the case with AVB. Could be a busy month for Franco in trying to move a few players along.

Have you actually watched Schneiderlin? Your in for a pleasant surprise.

Edit: I should keep this on topic, a lot of Rodriguez ability is mental, it's all about movement so he's going to stand a better chance than someone who relies wholly on speed and power.

Ledley's Knee!

I have ruptured my ACL twice the second time I took my cartilage and two other knee ligaments with it as well as dislocating my knee.

As a tough tackling quick centre half and defensive midfielder it was the end of me literally to this day it is still not right. Takes away your pace explosiveness and stability no matter how hard you work sometimes you can not recover from it.
Maybe premier players get all kinds of different treatment and that you can argue but I doubt any player returns the same some recent examples

Vidic - never the same after he done it
Rossi - his keeps going
Owen - we all know his injury problems
Sandro - never the same after it

I done a lot of research into it when I was recovering from my injuries sometimes you can be lucky but if the cartilage goes with it then your chance of a full recovery goes down a lot.

People comparing it with NHL & NBA & NFL. Players coming back in different sports are regardless football is a totally different sport knees are used an incredible amount during football as I have learnt I didn't realise how crucial your knee is to play football.

It is essentially a footballers worst nightmare or any sports person it's a horrific injury that does stuff to you mentally as well as physically unless you have done it yourself you won't realise the pain of it happening puts fear in some people.

Even if you do fully recover your chance of re injury is so high it's a needless risk you are playing with fire.

So I wouldn't touch him with a barge pole for anything over 3-4 million we go near him for any more than that and we are asking to be burnt

Yeah your right. Hmm then I have a question for you.

Football is more of... leg using? sports. and I'm not really fan of NHL but in my knowledge, it's arm using sports.

Considering ACL is leg injury, do you think it is more harder to recover from the injury?
