CONFIRMED: Dominic Ball arrives on loan from Tottenham Hotspur http://www.cambridge-united.co.uk/news/article/spurs-youngster-joins-us-2219522.aspx… pic.twitter.com/JpFrHroiUD

E u20 CB who has been on the bench a couple of times and looked good for Spurs u21's whilst Poch and his team were watching.

Good luck to him for the rest of the season - Cambridge play ManU in the FA Cup tomorrow, but not sure he will feature as he will only just have met his team mates !

Good luck to him, a bit disappointed he didnt even get a League 1 loan but all the best to him.

Unfortunately hype has alot to do with getting loans

I do find it funny when comparing loans with other year groups. For example Caulker was a starting CB for Yeovil at 17 whilst Hall is a starting CB for Blackpool. Milos just managed to get a loan for Charlton and put in some good performances for Middlesborough

Now Ball isn't 2 levels below Milos but he definitely isn't 2 levels below Hall who arguably didn't have a good season as CB for our development team

I think this is when you need someone like Sherwood in the academy to get a better loan for players

Ball starts tonight in place of midfielder Liam Hughes who has sustained ligament damage - Ball joined from Watford aged 16 where he played in midfield and played there for the first couple of years at Spurs (and for Northern Ireland).

' U's have lined-up 4-2-3-1 with Ball alongside Champion - ahead of the back four. #cufc

Good luck to him on his professional debut v Dagenham & Redbridge

Seems to be playing at RB - not seen him play there for u18's/u21's. Hope he gets other chances at CB or even CM which are more his position

Subbed on at 63' 0-0, reportedly playing in midfield. Game finished 0-0 away to Southend.

Quotes for those who complain whenever we send someone on loan and they don't play constantly:

"The experience at Cambridge has been massive for me. Being around the first team there and playing different styles of football has been really good.

"I've probably learned a lot more in the last couple of months in terms of men's football than I have done elsewhere, so it's been a great experience for me.

"I was prepared for what it was going to be like and I've enjoyed adapting to a different type of play and I want to try to establish myself in the team before the end of the season."'
