Ray Wilkins is talking rubbish, sorry... Tim has done very little to show anyone that he is Managerial quality at this level.

Yes he has a reasonable points haul, but with a squad that massively underperformed at the beginning of the season...

It's funny how the team has beaten pretty much the same teams it did early season and still got stuffed by the same teams it got stuffed by under AVB.

Incidentally, who do you think does have 'managerial quality at this level'? The top fours managers in Spain, Germany, Italy and England? Are they likely to come to Spurs?

And did AVB have 'managerial quality at this level'? Presumably he did, because he achieved Spurs' best ever points total last season, and won the Europa League a few seasons before that.

So Tim improved upon AVB's results. Does that show managerial quality at this level?

If Sherwood's results were replicated over the whole season, we would have had as many (maybe more) wins as Arsenal. Does that show managerial quality at this level?

Brendan Rodgers' first season at Liverpool was worse than Sherwood's at Spurs, in terms of performances and points. Does Rodgers have managerial quality at this level?

I'm not sure your seemingly clever phrase really means much.

Do ex-professionals actually bother to watch the teams they are commenting on? As anyone who watches us under Sherwood should be able to see how clueless we look.

A manager that goes straight into a top job with good squad is very, very likely to have a better record than a better manager that starts at a rock bottom or even at mid level club and has to work his way to success.
Not read the article, or listened to the clip then.

Sooo because we can't have any of the top 4 managers in European leagues we should keep Tim?

Umm... no. How about Managers 5-358? ok hyperbole... i am not a Tim loather, but I have disliked his tenure in the way he has handled the squad, the media and games that needed turning.

He has set us up quite well on occasion, Chelsea away for example, but whenever the team has started to falter he has sat there and watched it implode around him.

His timing of substitutions is baffling in the extreme. His so called handling of youth players... would he had done this if it was start of the season and he had 100m of fresh talent at his disposal? Maybe...

Would he have alienated Adebayour? Probably not.

But regardless, Spurs were ALWAYS replacing him this summer, it does beggar belief that anyone actually believes otherwise. Chelsea showed what a fiasco it is when you declare from the off someone is an interim manager, hence why we didn't go that route.

Assuming Sherwood hasn't burned any internal bridges, i expect him to be at the club, but not manager post summer, to that end I am not even considering him as an option, because I truly believe he isn't one.

Funny enough, I quite like Ray and what I've seen of him and they way he comes across, I think he possesses good man management skills. I just don't think he needs to have a say here when it's got fuck all to do with him.....and before some of you say that he was asked a question, he could have said "that's a question for DL"

''....Since Tim took over, [Arsene] Wenger has got 37 points, Tim has got 36 and [Roberto] Martinez has got 35....''

Tim has a better squad at his disposal than Martinez. Thats a fact to me, what about the article?

He just wants him to stay so Chelski won't have to worry about us again anytime soon.
Your spot on. I heard some twat, think it was Hanson or some ex Liverpool leg end, mouthing off saying he thought Giggs should get the Man U job full time. Yeah right.
Keep your biased blatherings to yourself, pricks.
Seriously why the f do they ask these arseholes in the first place.
And why do Sky, BBC and ITV 99% of the time get a commentator who has played for one of the teams your watching or their rivals so all you get is a biased load of drivvel.
Im so sick of watching a Spurs game on TV and having to listen to Alan f-ing Smith talk shit.
Fk I need a sit down now

The best reason to replace TS is that, as a rookie manager, he's unlikely to attract big name players to our club, or even to keep the ones we've got, while a more seasoned and respected manager would.

Sherwood DOES have a better record than Martinez! Sherwood has "2112" by Rush, while Martinez has "Best of Dubstep 14" by Various Artists.

I thought Chelsea away was the worst set-up of the lot but I guess people liked that he was trying to be clever

Have we ever had manager who was able to attract big name players?

Sadly, I just don't think that that's something we should think about... Getting someone who could raid their old club is a possibility though!
