I was about to ask the same question. No idea what’s going on.

I suppose the massive flaw in that plan would be City are also in the Cl, along with Barcelona(currently 10 points clear of Madrid).

I won't also mention United, Chelsea and Liverpool.

However I believe in a one off or over two games we could beat anyone, over a 38 game season I think we won’t beat city to the league
Who knows, city might draw Barcelona, that’s one down already

That’s my point entirely, it is feasible to consider a cup competition easier to win than a full campaign (and by easier I’m not suggesting it will happen!)
