After joining from Shakhtar for €30 million in the summer of 2015, Costa enjoyed a solid first season in Germany, scoring four and assisting in 14 goals in 27 Bundesliga appearances under Pep Guardiola. He also scored the decisive penalty in the DFB Pokal final shootout against Borussia Dortmund as Bayern secured a domestic double in Guardiola's final game in charge.

However, Costa, who contends for a place on the flanks with Arjen Robben, Franck Ribery and Kingsley Coman, has found it a struggle to back up his strong debut campaign, starting only 13 of Bayern's 31 Bundesliga games so far this season.

He has also struggled with knee problems, becoming a bit-part player in recent months. He has appeared in Bayern's Bundesliga starting XI on only four occasions since the winter break and failed to start any of their Champions League knockout games this year.

Robben and Ribery are 34 this year. You'd think Bayern would look to sell them on rather than Costa.

Bild reporting today that Bayern has put Costa on 'can go' list. According to Bild, price tag is 40m€ (around 35m£) and potential clubs interested include Juventus, PSG, City & United...We aren't mentioned.

Costa is currently on 85k a week salary.

If we are really interested, potentially there is a deal to be done. But then, other rivals could always give him a better deal than us

I can see him going to Juve or PSG, perhaps even Roma now that Liverpool have offered 35 million for Salah

Don't know why, but I have thought for a while Lamela may end up at Juve, if he decides he wants to return to Italy.
However, if Roma are flush with cash, would make sense for them to come calling.

I think we could do a deal involving Walker going the other way potentially, but then again it's up to DC to agree terms with us.

David Luiz and matic, Zlatan and eto/hleb, Ashley Cole and gallas etc. They do happen. Not saying this one will but it's not confined to football manager only

Frazier Campbell for Berbatov. Deal of the century.
I'm so glad that Campbell was a last minute inclusion in that deal. I couldn't have dealt with the tension of whether Levy could have got that deal over the line.

While £85k is within our wage structure, our saleries top out at £100k p/w and I doubt a £15k a week pay rise would be enough to secure him, given the expected competition.

[edit] correction, quite rightly pointed out that Kane is on £120 p/w.

Apparently Liverpool have started sniffing around. I would much rather they get Salah then Costa. Costa at Liverpool would make their atrack horrible.

I do not know about us, but my friend who is acquainted with Costa's people (mandates etc)believes will be hard to sign due to medical history with his knees (or knee). Apparently lot of interest in him (not sure if we are one). He expects various clauses negotiated because of this, with a very stringent medical, which is not a guarantee he would pass allegedly.
