I think it's become evident that its the 3rd parties and agents that are moving these players to Shakhtar. I wonder how much say the player has at the end of the day?

Guess so, it's a shame football has come to this.

You'd think footballers would look at Willian's case and stand firm.

oh well, poor kid, clearly got forced out of AM. playing in Ukraine is hardly going to test him and if Willian moves to a good club he will prob take his place in the Brazil squad.

also, looking at their rosta i really dont know where they are going to play him what with Wellington Nem, Fred, Douglas Costa and Taison all playing quite similar positions.

They need that squad for the tough games against the powerhouses of Tavriya, Volyn and Zorya.

This is a bit odd, Shakhtar get way more fans than anyone else - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2013–14_Ukrainian_Premier_League - and if you look at their highest attendance compared to their capacity, they get more fans than the stadium can hold!

Don't worry lads, LAMELA IS THE ONE!

Lamela is a right inverted winger and Bernard is a left inverted winger. I never wanted Bernard to replace Bale as it would make no sense. Bernard on the left Bale/Lamela on the right. We still need someone like Bernard as an option for the left, i hope there is truth in the Willian rumours as Ljajic doesn't seem to be interested in us.

Well at least we can draw a line under this and move on - personally i'm sceptical how far involved we actually were anyway.

bit harsh to claim he chose money when shakhtar were his only option.

Well he could have decided not to sign for them. then he would stay in brazil another year unless AM accept a lower bid for him. i can live with him not signing for us, but going to ukraine instead of a competitive league is such a depressing waste of talent....

I realise this will sound a bit bitter, but I find it really sad to see another really promising young Brazilian prospect move to a former Soviet state knowing that he is effectively throwing away his career. Will he earn more money then he could have imagined growing up? Undoubtedly. Will he ever reach the heights his talents should allow him to reach? Right now, I doubt it.

Doesn't even sound bitter tbh. The only reason you go to a footballing backwater like the Russian league, if you're a player with the myriad opportunities Bernard has/had, is for a mahoosive wedge.
