Tottenham have made contact with Manchester United as they look to do a deal for the France forward. But United, who want to keep the 22-year-old, have priced him out of a move.

If Levy thought playing hardball with Utd was not going to come back and bite him, he is stupid. I firmly believe he knows fine well that there would have came a time where we wanted to buy a Utd player.

However, there will always be a player from us that Utd want and were no longer 'It's Tottenham' so we realistically have chances with their players, although right now, most of their team are dogshit.

Imho, there has to be something each team wants at the same time or the right time for anything to happen. They want Alderweireld or Rose ? Then absolutely we should be allowed to approach Martial.

What hardball has he played? The way I see it he has just been defending our interests.

Exactly, what should he have done? rolled over and have his tummy tickled?

Unfortunately they have the resources to have an unhappy player earning shitloads sit on their bench every week, which is why i'm doubtful we'll get him.
I'd love to be wrong mind.

The shareholders might be a bit pissed if they start letting £60m assets rot. When utd failed to get in the cl the other year it wiped £300m off utds share price. The banks and shareholders were not happy that is why the glazers went on a spending spree.

Yeah you're right, but the risk is completely pissing the manager off if its his desire to refuse a sale to us.
How much power do the shareholders actually have in sales etc? I wouldn't imagine that much.

From what rumours i've heard mourinho isn't too bothered.

The shareholders will have quaterly meetings where they can share their views. They might not decide who is bought and sold but if they lose confidence they can replace the board or dump their share seeing the club lose value. If the club loses value the banks then become involved as utd owe a lot of money which is set against the value of the club. Worse case they seize the club and sell it off for what they are owed as they did with liverpool.

Not saying any of that is likely but they have to be taken into account.

If thats true, i cant imagine Woodward would be the one to refuse.
Maybe its not so far fetched that a deal could be done.

Think they would both prefer him to sign a new contract or otherwise a foreign bid comes in. We would be last choice and there is the possibility of letting him rot but i don't see it as high.

He ain't that good
or probably that cheap
that we should do other
than make a bid then walk away
Going to Juventus anyway.

Rather have Rashford as HK backup.

Martial is the better player stats-wise. Rashford will cost even more.

Stats: schmats.
Not concerned about cost.
Need the right players
with the right attitude.
Rashford is English and keen, despite Mourinho
Martial is French and looks a bit moody.
because of.

Hardly.
''In Internet slang, a troll is a person who starts quarrels or upsets people on the Internet to distract and sow discord by posting inflammatory and digressive, extraneous, or off-topic messages''

Not guilty M'lud.
I'd call it an honest exchange of competing opinions.
The fact that someone might be upset by one's opinion
is not proof of 'trolling'.

Berbatov, Carrick. Absolutely he should have done that and I'm happy he has. It's never going to be easy if you then want to buy from that team. I'm surprised with the retards doh'ing my previous post that they fail to understand that.

The only hardball is being played by United and they don't like the fact that we may sign Martial little old Tottenham who do they think they are?
I think they had better get used to the idea that we are no longer also rans who must not get above their station
