Transport links shittier than WHL and not that far away. Don't see what the benefit is going to be.

Transport links may be shitter, but a line runs directly alongside the site, so another station would not be a great deal of work.

^ Presumably we'd have to pay for that extra station though, and that would be one station as opposed to the current two (plus Tube).

Don't know much about the area but thought this bit of the article looked positive:

"Cllr Rye pointed out the Edmonton site would not necessarily need a new railway station - a potential sticking point of the Haringey development - and would only need investment in the existing under-used Angel Road station".

It could just be spin on their part though?

Can someone enlighten me:

Why would this proposal be any more "viable" than the NDP?

This is my thinking.

Levy has yet to explain to us why the NDP is suddenly no longer viable. Yes, there are a number of theories on this, but I want to hear it from the horse's mouth as to why we have to move in any event now that the OS has gone. The site in this link makes no sense at all.

Wasn't it something to do with listed buildings and agricultural societies kicking up a fuss plus the overall cost of overhauling the transport links?

I used to live in Cheshunt and commute through Angel Road every day. It's just down the track from Northumberland Park and no bigger than that station. Plus it is a greater distance away from the "loop route" trains, which is the line that Seven Sisters/Bruce Grove/White Heart Lane are on.

The line is always packed at the best of time. So imagine going to WHL but having Northumberland Park as your only station.

Makes no sense at all.

Well, I'm not sure what agricultural societies have a beef with since there is zero greenery around the proposed area.

The transport links are going to be an issue almost everywhere. It's only really the OS that didn't have that issue because of the revamped, massive and multi-linked Stratford station.

So that leaves listed buildings......but surely this is something that was looked at from the beginning, rather than after the club dumped millions into buying up so much of the surrounding property?

It said in the article that this land in Edmonton was considered right from the off, but they decided to go for the NDP.

What's changed since that initial decision? As Azrael says, we need it from the horse's mouth - what the fuck's going on with NDP!?

enfield may not aSK for NYHTING BUT My in fCT OFFER SWEETNERS WHEREAS HARINGAY JUST WANT TO TAke take take

I just love these factual statements, particularly when they come from people who live 200-odd miles away.

He added the council's plans for Meridian Water have “stalled”.

I'm not surprised they've stalled. It's a very big area which contains a lot of light industry and small businesses, a retail park and the three massive ex-BOC storage warehouses; the cost of acquiring the land will make the NPD look like small change—hundreds of millions. Non=starter.

How much of it would we need? All of it or just the empty bit alongside the North Circ?

Edit: Just reread the link from MattyP and can't work out if he's dismissed it or just angry with the councillor who went public as there's no "official" proposal from Spurs yet?
