Arsenal and Tottenham go head-to-head for Argentina international
ARSENAL and Tottenham are considering a move for Argentinian starlet Emanuel Mammana, according to reports.

The 19-year-old is seen as one of the most promising young defenders in world football and has already been capped by Argentina.

And his performances for River Plate have not gone unnoticed with Premier League rivals Arsenal and Tottenham as well as Serie A club Fiorentina showing interest.

Italian publication Tuttosport claim River Plate are demanding a fee in the region of £7.5million for the teenage star.

However, La Viola are only prepared to pay £5.7m, putting the Gunners and Spurs on red alert.

Arsenal are in need of some reinforcement at centre-back with Per Mertesacker and Laurent Koscielny both in their 30s.

While Tottenham are hoping to add Mammana to their ever-growing pool of young talent at White Hart Lane

I'm sure we've been linked with him before.

Unfortunately it's in the Express so isn't probably true.

I find the FM Community are generally spot on about this kind of thing.

So if they're saying "Mammana? Yes", then surely only a muppet would say "Mammana? Nah!"...

The game already take up too much of my time without me posting on message boards about it as well! Not with Spurs, football index and raising a child as well

Sorry to go off topic, but is that 'football index' site any good?

Was thinking of joining, but I'm not sure if there's actually any potential to make decent pocket money...

Interested to know what @Ossie85 has to say

90% he's signing for Fiorentina before the weekend for 9m euros

And I'm furious. Even though he's not a starter, he's the best project of a defender in Argentina. He played for the full national team before making his debut for River. That only happened one time before, and with the same team. That other player was Mascherano

Back three with him, Balanta and Doria, centre backs sorted for 10 years! Bit of Lucas Romero sitting in front of them and the two Zivkovic's and you're in business.

Anyway, Mammana, good name

Just named half of my Ajax side!

It's hard though, can understand why a young Argie would prefer to move to Spain or Italy. Just a lot easier to settle with the shared culture.

But we have Poch and Lamela to help the lad settle.

I think it's more about how much you make them wanted and the support you're willing to offer.

Obviously financials come into it but again, that's part of making them feel wanted.

Why do we need to sign mammana as a prospect? surely if poch and coaches rate carter vickers so highly it will just be stunting his progress. toby and jan are still young enough imo not to worry too much and promote ccv instead.
