Emmanuel Adebayor has arrived at the Lane determined to score goals, enjoy his football and experience success.

The Togo striker has signed on a season-long loan from Manchester City and says the prospect of a move back to London was one he jumped at.


Emmanuel has come up against us on a number of occasions during his time with Arsenal, City, and, most recently, Real Madrid in the Champions League last season, so he knows of the quality we possess.


The 27-year-old believes N17 is a place where he can achieve, and he is relishing getting the chance to pull on the famous Lilywhite shirt.


He said: “Tottenham has always been a good club. I know a lot of the players and I have a lot of friends here, so when I got the call to come and join the Club and to help the Club achieve what they want to achieve, I quickly said yes.


“It's a nice place to be and I’m delighted to be back in London, I’m looking forward to it, to the success for me and for the Club.


“There's a lot of good players here and I'm here to do my job, score goals, play football, and enjoy myself once again on the pitch.


“I've always enjoyed playing against Tottenham, and I'm happy today that I get the chance to wear their shirt, and play with them.”

15 Premier League goals in 34 games for Man City, a record of 1 in 2.3. He started 27.

5 Primera Liga goals in 14 games for Real Madrid, a record of 1 in 2.8. He started 6.

If we stays fit and out of trouble I think we can look forward to upwards of 15 Premier League goals from this guy. Added to his ability to bring others into play and the way he bullies defenders and I think we have our number 9 boys (though he'll not have that number :-( )

I think he can break 20 if he gets 30 starts.
