I'll happily go to all the shit games at whl. I'm not fussed about the weather or opponent.

Let the local fans and tourists have my seat for the next few weeks.

If the upper tier is closed for the City game why did they let me buy my season ticket seat from last season for that game.

Well on the plus side, at least you’ll be able to stretch out a bit up there :D.

I genuinely can't be fucked with Wembley anymore. It was an occasion to see Barcelona, but mentally I moved on after the Leicester game and the season closer.

It's too far and too convoluted to get there, the facilities are poor, the scale of the bowl is just too fucking big, and the seats are all fucking red.

If the club had sorted all this out properly with SUPPORTERS in mind they could have had 51k on Saturday

The lower and middle tier makes up 50, 835 seats

Only 43k bothered going and they are/were bloody lucky that many turned up considering the piss poor communication and ticket pricing by the club

It's such a shame that we all support such a great club but those who are the custodians treat us like shit time and time again

Empty seats shock Tottenham boss Pochettino

Wembley was half full for the Premier League clash between Tottenham and Cardiff City, to the surprise of Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino.

Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino was shocked to see so many empty seats at Wembley for his side's Premier League clash with Cardiff City.
Spurs triumphed 1-0 thanks to Eric Dier's eighth-minute goal but did so in front of an official attendance of 43,268 - some way short of the national stadium's 90,000-seat capacity.
Pochettino was seen to point to an almost completely empty upper tier ahead of kick-off, seemingly taken aback by the low turnout on a rainy afternoon in the capital.
"I was a little bit surprised that it was empty," he told a news conference. "But I understand that this is difficult – we cannot ask for more from our fans. Of course, it was a difficult day with the weather and everything and it's not easy.

"I am always honest and I was surprised that the top tier was empty."

Joke of a comment. Think Poch should be questioning Levy why the top tier wasn't even on sale rather than his own fans......

Every ticket available in tiers 1&2 was sold pre-game.

Apparently Spurs put out a statement on the 4th Sept that there would be limited capacity for this game owing to limitations being placed on the number of full capacity games allowed. Taking into account Man City, and CL games.

I am surprised that Pooch was not aware of this!

The logical thing to do would be to shut the entire top tier, cover all the seats and offer season tickets of the upper tier a lower tier seat. Like they did for various cup games when the top one closed.

Poch probably has enough to deal with than trying to keep track of our latest ticket sales plans. Fans have enough trouble trying to keep up themselves.

I planned to get to the game as tickets are easier to obtain than old WHL or NWHL for the casual spectator, one of downsides of being exiled up north. Sitting on 10:15 from Leeds to Kings Cross when they cancelled the service due to a fatality at near Wakefield with no idea when the line would reopen. The travel advice was go to York, then get an unreserved seat on a train from York with no guaranteed way to get to Kings Cross in time to make the kick off. Can't even claim back the return journey. I've seen plenty of fans on trips down south.
I'll still go to Wembley whilst tickets are available for Saturday games, any chance to see the team I've supported since 1962.

It's not the seats or the size for me. It is that it is very badly serviced by transport links, including road and train. Plus it's such a schlep from the stations. I had an injured ankle last year and hobbling around with a crutch was not a pleasant experience. I was in Club Wembley and I would have to hang around in the post match bars in the stadium because I knew otherwise I'd be stuck in a huge mass of people trying to get to a station or a cab and would be standing around forever, and even then once it got quiet I'd have to hobble all the way down Wembley Way. At least at the Lane all you'd have to do was go to a close pub like the Bell & Hare for half and hour while the crowds died down.

I just don't want all that again. I paid to sit in the new stadium. That's where I want to be.

How much were general sale tickets on for?

I'll be honest I've hardly been to any Wembley games as a member - couple of the CL nights, a couple of cup ties and I think just two league matches since we've been there (fucking West Brom!).

It's not even that nightmarish for me to get to and from, it's just a very long journey, it's incredibly bloody expensive, and the experience is pretty shite. It just doesn't feel right watching in such an overly-huge bowl with red seats and honestly just really uncomfortably unfamiliar surroundings. The walking involved in getting too and from stations and through packed crowds outside the ground is tough on the people I often take as well who aren't too mobile.

There was a restricted capacity enforced for this game. Nothing to do with fans staying away. The capacity was set at 45.000 by Brent Council

I believe there is a limit as to how many events Wembley can hold with full capacity and would guess that the Cardiff game was not one we asked for maximum capacity.

Thought club were allowed 27 "events" at Wembley at full capacity leaving only 8 for cup games. With spurs hoping to progress in CL and domestic cups those matches will have full capacity.. or so I thought

We were never going to fill out Wembley for Cardiff after Barcelona 3 days earlier

Given the restriction on the number of events that can be staged at full capacity at Wembley Stadium, and with our game against Manchester City on October 29 and all three of our group stage Champions League matches planned at full capacity, supporters are advised that our game against Cardiff City on October 6 will be limited in capacity

I'm not surprised they lowered the capacity. I personally wouldn't consider going to this game as a non ST holder. It's just too much hassle and actually rather stressful getting to the other side of London. As soon as you get into central London it's just too busy for me, particularly on the overcrowded trains. At WHL I just take the train from Cambridge to Northumberland without all the stress that I get from Liverpool Street to Wembley. I still make the exception for the big games, all the CL home games and earlier this year the games against Utd and Arsenal (2 fixtures I didn't get chance to see before). The smaller profile games are just not worth it for me. Credit for those that do go though, your extra effort is commendable.
