England fans involved in clashes in Marseille

They interviewed a French barman where the 'trouble' happened, he said it was pretty much all blown out of proportion anyway, blamed the police for being heavy handed, said the English fans were all being friendly and just enjoying themselves when a group of 50 or so French lads tried goading them...and he also said there were no songs sung about ISIS.
Sounds like the press making a mountain out of a molehill again, and they fucking love doing that.
Well possibly but it's hard to justify lobbing chairs at what appears to be a shop window regardless of who wound who up first.

Seems a bit OTT the French having to resort to tear gas.

Our po po tend to use such tactics as a last resort rather than just wading straight in with it.
The country's in a state of emergency, man. Security forces resources are stretched to the limit. Zero tolerance. What do you expect?

Their police can't tell the difference between football yobs and terrorists lol?

Are you serious??

You think terrorists can't disguise themselves as football fans?

You think that time taken dealing with football fans doesn't waste police time & detract from the more serous business of protecting the populace?

You think the police controlling what ever was going on last night didn't have better things to do in a country facing what this country is battling right now with the threat level as it is?

True, there's a video of some chanting "no surrender.." so it doesn't seem beyond the bounds of possibility but you're right, no leaping.

You've already called them "thick, probably racist, arseholes" so think you're a bit late to be saying no leaping!

Happens everywhere the English go or at least when I've been, even out in Brazil. I will say there are always a load of annoying England dickheads who get drunk and go too far but rarely do they start fighting mainly piss taking and the odd disgusting song. Anyway taking my son out there tomorrow morning so in hoping your last sentence is true :)

No, I called England fans singing those songs that. If they didn't sing them then that description wouldn't stand.

If a person chants about Isis in an area that is heavily Muslim and when those Muslims are in front of them then "thick arsehole" is a pretty accurate description. Racist was said with the caveat of probably.

I'm not blaming the English fans for this - they do seem to be targeted for the sins of the 80s hooligan element.
If they're guilty of anything it's being naive enough to think that French police will treat football crowds the same as English police will treat them.

You mean kettle them, crush them, kill them and then mount a 27 year Murdoch aided cover up? ;)

SSN 'reporting' on a group of about 50 supporters all standing around outside a pub, the 'reporter' saying that "tensions were high & it felt like something was going to happen"....well it did 10 minutes later as a lone French bird decided to start chucking bottles at them.
You couldn't make it up, she created a story, not the English!

Pathetic aren't you.

England fans have every right to chant that. I know you've got a small and selective memory but it was only weeks ago that plans were found on an ISIS terrorists laptop to target England fans in Marseille. Perhaps you think if the English fans kept quiet it would all go away?

Calling them out is probably not the best idea though

English men act rowdy and stupid when on holiday and drinking , we have done for years. Most of the time we don't mean any harm its just our way . The rest of the world don't understand our banter/humour/moronic behaviour

Lol I'm not sure if this post is serious or not? Reminds me of that scene in Only Fools and horses.
Rodney: you were drunk, you shouted things at women, you had a punch up at the pool.
Del Boy: we were on holidays

Exactly, it's how probably a lot of the blokes out there act on a weekly basis back home as well.
Stag do/football/holiday you name it, you can always guarantee the English will end up sh!t faced and rowdy.

Lol my post is serious I'm ashamed of the English holiday mentally but I can sort of understand it as I've acted in a similar way in lads holidays in my younger years

Ah great, English teams to be banned from European competitions just as we're back in the Champions League...

Is it really that hard to have a beer on holiday and not punch someone?

Yes it is when someone punches you first!
