If its that bad then its a disgrace they playing games there.

If anyone actually due then Platini Retrospectively and UEFA now should be sued to Fuck.

I thought it was France not a third world country.

Pretty much.

France doesn't want the world to know that it doesn't have control of one of it's cities...

But they will blame it on the English.

Don't get me wrong. Reading some of the stuff its obvious some morons are there but not on the scale of what's being reported. Our people are being attacked and instead of the French police protecting them they are being arrested for defending themselves.

The Russians are purely there for the tear up. The local gangs can act with impunity, so long as it's against the English. I know some journos over there that have been caught up in it.

I guess the easy answer is don't go down to the old town. But is that right in this day and age? Surely they should have been prepared. But clearly not.

Pathetic French cops.

What a surprise. Not.

English fans no understanding of what's going down in this country socially & politically

Not saying they caused or deserved - but things are not normal here & Marseilles is not a 'normal' place
It because in Britain we react to terrorists like this:

Chatter locally this morning from the local Frebch is that the English fans are blameless. Being targeted by disaffected ghetto youths trying to provoke anyone they can and bait the security forces

Doesn't fit the state narrative so don't expect the reports to reflect that - but that's what regular folk here are saying in general

Always likely to be the case. Marseille is a seriously (!!!) tough area, the French police are notoriously heavy handed and nervous, and the England fans are all about 'banter' and booze - volatile!

Send Boris and Lafarge out there to complete the set of racist twats and I'm sure they'll have a great time.

I do feel the English get targeted due to our reputation from 20/30 years ago. Many fans in continental Europe have just as many bad elements.

However, I cannot understand defending drunken, yobbish behaviour as just "high spirits/banter/just our way abroad.
Almost like it's part of our culture.

Fuck that. If that's part of our culture then it makes me ashamed quite frankly.

Are you saying that everyone who travels abroad to support England are racist twats?

I'm saying that the pair would be amongst their own. The group mentality brings out the stupid in people and where better to do it than abroad, fuelled on lager and nationalism.

I think it's the British attitude to alcohol that's half the problem. Drink lots and quickly. Obviously once your smashed people do stupid shit.

They should make football fans smoke more weed and eat some nice food.

This...
There are Russian and French firms looking for and picking off groups of English fans, not English firms, just regular fans.

I think that's quite a silly statement given the stories coming out.

The most idiotic thing the vast majority of fans there have done is go and not realise they are massive targets.

I think you'll find that most of the trouble comes from people that don't drink that often. A lot of them simply can't handle it.
Go into any pub. The ones that drink everyday don't cause trouble. It's the ones that come out on a friday night and drop a couple of shots that are the pain in the arse.

Yep, the lightweights think they can drink at the same pace as the habitual drinkers but soon find out they can't.

Thing is though, it's also the nature of alcohol. It doesn't matter if your body physically can't handle more your brain will convince itself that it's a good idea to carry on drinking.
