It saddens me when there is not one Spurs player in the 22 man English team tonight. How does others feel about it? I am curious to know if it's just me. :(

We dominate the U21s though with homegrown talent. Only a matter of time before they move up to the next level. Most of the English players at United/Arsenal/Liverpool were bought from other clubs. Ours are our own for the most part

It saddens me too. I was unaware that Andros picked up an injury against Stoke until I read the BBC preview. Unlike the haters on here I think he is an integral part of Spurs' and England's future and it was tragic that last year he was chopped down by another Stoke defender to ruin his and England's prospects in the World Cup.

Really? I think he is very poor. Nowhere near good enough for. Offers next to nothing.

I wouldn't worry about it, leaves less flak for us when England qualify and it all goes tits up with the inevitable gooner love-in

Disagree about Andros being an integral part of our team. He doesn't really offer anything and is not a team player. Andros is all about himself because he always wants the glory. We need players that are thinking about the next pass and not someone who is going to run at goal and shoot at any given moment. He's young and maybe he can mature, but sadly I don't see a future in our first team at the moment.

Townsend like so many of our squad lacks a footballing brain. We were mad to turn down the offer from Southampton if it was as high as it was rumoured to be.

In one game. Bully for him.
More than 1 game. He won the pen that won us the CP game last season. There are other games his contribution was integral.. Tim correctly describes him as a match winner
But whether or not you agree with me that he is a great player he has done nothing to warrant the dog's abuse he receives.

That's the problem with Andros... He has one good game and then all of a sudden think's he can do it all like we saw against Stoke where he was extremely poor.

Pleased they're not selected. Less chance of them being injured and more much-needed opportunity to work with our coaches.

I am not abusing him at all. I just think he needs to change his mentality which will come with age (I hope!)

Overrated based on a couple of decent games for England last season mate. But if you still think that he helps by blasting shots into the crowd and causing our play to break down more often than not, then there's not much I can say to change your mind.

If Townsend is a "great player", then Lamela is world-class.

Tim described a CM2 (away to West Ham) of Paulinho and Sigurdsson as "one to compete". Tim's narrative wasn't always the most realistic.
