Robbo

Is he getting back to his best?

Since his little absence Robbo has come back and conceded 9 goals in 10 games and i would think that it would be fair to say that he hasn't had a chance with any of them.

I certainly feel more confident with Robbo now than I did earlier in the season and see real possibility that he is getting back to his best.

I think this is really good news because when playing well he is one of the best keepers in the country.

I know that BC is going to disagree but are others on here feeling more confident of Robbo now?

I hope so!
He has looked good ever since Ramos came along. He was a living wall against pompeys, it's been a long time ago since I saw robbo stop shots like that.

every Keeper linked with or wearing the English no.1 jersey gets cursed. Carson and Green are recent victims. Green has made 3 howlers since all the recent hype. Every now and again it cycles back to James and the very same weekend he chucks one in his own net from a hopeful cross.

I hope robbo never plays for England while he's a spurs player

i feel he has improved a fair bit, i think it was against anderlecht that i saw him pull of some great saves and some good reactions. He also seems to be a bit slimmer and more nimble.

I still think he is the best English keeper.

There's a song that goes along those lines.

I can't remember it though ...

Yup. Just as long as he's never in the England spotlight again, he should be fine.

Two fandabby saves tonight, classified by Mr Roberts as world class. He has kept us in the game where we are ten against eleven at a ground where no other team has taken a point...

I don't think Robbo will last long with Ramos at the Helm. He doesn't command his own box and doesn't have much agility either. Against City he made a mess of an easy save that could have cost Spurs, and the other one shot he had to save he made it look far more difficult than it really was.

Could never understand why some doubted him, he was playing through a bad period of form ( like all keepers get ), he is a top keeper and should be our no 1 for years.

he was absolutely amazing tonight - 11 out of 10 easily - the save he made from Vasall - superlatives cannot do justice - it was simply miraculous - save of the season contender without any doubt

Robbo is definitely getting back to his best IMO, he made two or three truely outstanding saves tonight, and I believe if it wasn't for him it would have been a completely different outcome.

Well done Robbo, you're still the best English Goalkeeper.

Makes one wonder what on earth Hans Segers was doing, as Robbo's ten times the keeper he was now that he's without a goalkeeper coach.

Robbo has, in fact, made a number of top-dollar saves throughout the season. We tend to prefer to concentrate on the fuck-ups—of which, in all honesty, there haven't been too many, and most of them concentrated within one game.

But I agree with ERO, and this is a point Eddie made some time ago. How is it that every keeper we've had since Wandering Hans became coach has got worse? I'm very loath to criticise coaching, because, unlike some, I don't have the insight to watch a video of Hughton with a clipboard and divine that he doesn't have a clue, but there is fairly compelling evidence—Sullivan, Krazy and Robbo—that Segers had a dentrimental effect.

you have to say that not only is Ramos a step up from jol - but we got a whole lot of better backrom staff in too

how good is Gus for example - Hughton is a playing legend - but Gus already looks 10 steps up on the man with the clipboard - I can't tell you how depressed I used to get reading CH's profiles of the upcoming oppo on the official site

no disrespect to a great spurs player, a legend and true servant - but I don't think coaching was his thing - not at Spurs anyway - Gibbs took a lot of stick (not from m BTW) - but he called it right didn't he - maybe not in the most tacful way - a bit like our board - but they called it right too didn't they also?
