We don't have a thread (that I can find, at least) for general EFL discussion below the Championship (and this thread is merged with the Championship thread to create a more general-purpose EFL thread, I'm all for that), so I thought I'd start one.

Anyway, the League One play-off final for 2018/19 has just kicked off, and it's a repeat of the classic Charlton vs Sunderland fixture from 1998, which finished 4-4 on that occasion. Hoping for more of the same today, and come on Charlton!

And withing 3 minutes of me making a post saying "come on Charlton!", the Addicks manage to score a comedy backpass-that-went-under-the-keeper own goal!

Best hope I'm cheering on Liverpool in the CL final, lads...

really want Charlton to win so I can watch the Mackems crying on Netflix in a few weeks.

If Charlton lose this 1-0, the keeper will be haunted by that for the rest of his career. Totally thrown Charlton atm.

Looking at that massive distance between the sidelines and the stands at Wembley is a stark reminder of how much better we have it at the Lane now we're back.

Lee Cattermole is another excellent one-man reason to want Charlton to win this game.

I like Sunderland and their fans are always big on Spurs... they tend to like us

Met a few of theirs today around London - pleasant bunch... didnt understand a fucking word but they seemed like they were saying nice things

Oh and Sunderland really is a dump a shit hole but has this really great Indian restaurant - forgot what its called - near the Stadium of Light and by the beach .

Then again, Johnnie Jackson being involved with the Charlton management setup means it's not always so clear cut. Booooooo!

Great goal. Charlton have really deserved that, taken the game to Sunderland since that awful opener.
