This isn't exactly proof of fandom.. BUT I was watching a recent Noel Gallagher interview ....

He was yakking on positively about the England team and how they pulled together and how good it was they did so well .

Then he said the reason was cos there was no Rooney and no yucky scousers or Utd Mancs .

'Really good bunch ' he said, ' Just Man City and Tottenham players , nice ' .

Its true there isn't a lot of malice between us and City . Naturally we detest their oil money distorting the transfer market and them simply buying trophies...but malice ? don't think so . Pool , Arse, Chelski, Utd and Spammers on the other hand..

Not a lot of malice is up for discussion. City fans of a certain vintage have had something against us ever since the '81 cup final that gets brought up every time the Ricky Villa goal gets trotted out. But overall of course we have a lot less against City than our London rivals, and they have a lot less against us than United or Liverpool.

I'm one of Noel Gallagher's biggest fans BUT that quote ain't him bigging us up, it's him digging out the united & l'pool lot, imo
