It's that time I guess. Here's my stab at the team for the season:

Lloris

Zabaletta Kompany Demichelis Baines

Toure Matic Ramsey

Aguero Suarez Hazard

My team and one is for certain: no one of our lot is in it

--------------------Marshall (but honestly dont no)----
Coleman----Kompany-------Skrtel---------Baines---- I am tempted to put Gary Cahill in it
--------------------Gerrard--------------------------
------------Yaya--------------Ramsey---------------
--------Sturridge----Suarez------Hazard--------------

What a bunch of tossers besides a few (fullbacks, keeper, yaya)

Lloris
Coleman--Kompany--Cahill--Baines
Toure--Gerrard
Lallana--Suarez--Hazard
Sturridge
Lallana was a hard choice to make on the right wing but couldn't really think of anyone else (Sterling maybe?) tbh.

I might have done a 4-3-3 and put Ramsey in instead.

Just out of curiosity, I decided to look on whoscored to get a stats-based answer to this. Using a 4-2-3-1 formation, their team would be:
Mannone
Debuchy--Skrtel--Davies--Baines
Ramsey--Gerrard
Silva--Aguero--Hazard
Suarez
The front 6 is pretty close to expected but the defense is pretty crazy lol.

Decided to go against the grain, make it more challenging if you will and ignore the usual suspects and choose a team from those that dine from beneath the top 7 table. So here goes....

Marshall

Clyne - Amat - Lovren - Shaw

Dyer - Jedinak - Schneiderlin - Bolasie

Lallana

Bony

Demichelis over Koschielny and Mertersacker?

Can't believe I'm even wasting my time commenting on this...

I like Koscielny but Man City have conceded less goals than Arsenal whilst also attacking a hell of a lot more and scoring nearly 30 goals more. Demichelis makes more tackles per minute, makes half as many fouls, and contributes more passes to his team's build up. Most of all, he's a damn good reader of the game.

Arsenal have conceded 6 goals twice though. Vs man city away when Kos went off injured after 20 mins and away to Chelsea when Gibbs was wrongfully sent off. This is a clear case of stats being misleading.

Lloris is a bit of a sympathy vote. Not always perfect but he has largely been excellent with a chaotic team in front of him. Could have picked De Gea.

The Everton fullbacks are the most impressive in the league whenever I see them play, particularly their contribution in attack. I think the two centre backs are the two best by some distance in all truth.

Midfield was a tricky choice. Toure was an easy selection though. Ramsey has missed a chunk of the season but was probably the most impressive player first half of the season and when he has played has made a real impact and when he was out Arsenal fell away. Lallana I am impressed with every time I see play, I would guess he maybe doesn't have the greatest stats but he really makes Saints tick and can score or assist.

Up front Suarez and Sturridge was quite an easy selection again. There were a few others that could have been picked, but I feel Hazard has performed over the whole season compared to someone like Aguero, Sterling, Eriksen or Silva.

You rely too much on stats, BC.

Love still.
