Don’t kid yourself. Late deals will always happen and it’s worse because none English clubs can still buy Premiership players because their window will still be open. Lose a player then and it’s too late to replace. Additionally the donkeys you need to sell may still be in your squad occupying places because the bid hasn’t come in yet.
