But from reading the replies above I assume he's staying at Spurs to help to firstly improve himself and also his chances of playing first team football in his preferred position.

I wish all our players had a similar dedication to THFC.

Delighted with Eric Dier, he's been arguably our best signing from the summer when I think little was probably expected of him.

I also couldn't agree more with Dan Kilpatrick who wrote this article for TottenhamWay. Dier and JV would be my pairing at CB and i've actually always liked Kaboul at RB.

I highly doubt that Poch will do this but he should certainly be considering it.

He's actually the reason I am not overly disappointed that Fazio is basically Dawson with a latin sounding name

I think Kaboul and Fazio will make reasonable back up and this kid has shown enough already playing at right back to suggest to me that he deserves to be given a chance in his more natural position along side Vertonghen

If we can get a settled back four with those two and centre back, Walker or the American at right back and have our full backs working with the rest of the back for as a unit (being marshalled when to move up or drop deep together etc) I think we would instantly look more solid and settled

Add to that an upgrade on Capoue and we may actually have a solid base in front of our world class keeper with which to work upon
Hi 'Sheah'.I thought Dier looked very slow when playing at R.B. but like you I would be interested to see how he does at C.B.

Love the lad's attitude, might as well put him in alongside Jan now as we've got nothing to lose....

I think the reason he appears slow is he's unnatural in the position and as a result he lacks the positional awarness and plays reactively rather than instinctively and antisipating the game (therefore he loses that first yard and is on the back foot)

Plus to be fair the full back needs to be far more mobile than the centre back, it's a different type of speed and mobility

I don't think he's slow I just think he's a bit of a fish out of water there and while he's done a good job it has at time made him look worse than he is
